Vehicle Detail
2005 Chevrolet Suburban K2500 LT 4X4 with just about every option available (please see included picture of window sticker). My father bought this truck in July of 2005 from the owner of a local Chevrolet dealer, with just a few thousand miles on it. About the Suburban K2500: No one currently builds a 3/4 ton SUV and these are getting harder to find in this condition with low miles. This truck is equipped with the desirable 8.1L V8. This vehicle is perfect for towing while taking the family along. Most newer SUV's don't have the payload capacity to tow AND haul. As equipped this vehicle will seat 7 with the optional 2nd row bucket seats. Vehicle condition: This truck has been garaged most of its life, never been smoked in, no kids, the back seats have rarely been sat in and I don't think the 3rd row seats have every been sat in. The interior is very, very clean with the exception of a couple of small tears in the drivers seat. These rips were caused by objects that my dad wore on his belt which would catch climbing in and out of the vehicle. They have been there for many years and have not gotten any larger. All the seats sit like new, the foam padding is still firm. No other blemishes inside to speak of and all accessories work as new. The exterior is also in excellent condition. There are a few tiny rock chips on the hood and one tiny ding on the hood and one on the roof. Other than that no dints or scratches anywhere. The left front fender flare (plastic flare attached to fender) was professionally repainted at one time due to a scratch it suffered backing out of the garage. The repair is completely undetectable and only the plastic flare was repainted, not the fender itself. There is no rust showing on the body and the undercarriage is also very clean. The wheels have a few spots of corrosion (see pics linked below), mainly where previous balancing weights were attached and inside the window openings. Overall this truck is in excellent condition and looks much better in person than it does in these photos. Mechanical condition: This truck is equipped with the 8.1L big block V8 and a 4L85E automatic transmission with tow haul mode. The rear axle has 3.73 gears and the heavy duty locker option. The 4 wheel drive system utilizes an Autotrac transfer case with auto and manual drive selection. Never had any issues with any of the driveline whatsoever, only general maintenance etc. This era of GM trucks do suffer from certain faults, however, all of those have been addressed on this truck. The instrument cluster was replaced under warranty, the entire brake lines were replaced by local Chevy dealer, the steering column intermediate shaft and lower steering column bearing were replaced with updated parts. I only use AC Delco or equivalent parts for service. The coolant system was flushed last year by local Chevy dealer. The transfer case fluid was replaced with fresh Autotac II two seasons ago, and the front and rear axles were drained and filled with AMSOIL gear oil. I average around 1,000 miles a year on this vehicle since I have owned it, and I change the oil every year. I have replaced the spark plugs, both accessory drive belts and the air filter in the time I have owned it. I replaced all 4 rotors and all brake pads two years ago. The tires are like brand new with approx. 2,000 miles (or less) on them. They are Toyo Open Country AT2's and the size is: LT265/75-16 load range E. The driveline is basically all stock with the exception of a Hypertech tuner which is supposed to help with fuel economy and throttle response. The stock engine tune is stored in the tuner and can be downloaded back into the vehicle very easily but it does have better throttle response with the tune installed. The tuner is complete with all instructions and accessories. Modifications: We added a Z71 lower front bumper valance and Z71 fog lights (all GM parts) to the front bumper because we liked the look better. I have added molded splash guards to the fenders. The mirrors were changed to the later style telescopic trailer tow mirrors (not originally available on this Suburban), this truck originally had the power retractable (camper style) mirrors but these offer better rear visibility. The mirrors are also genuine GM parts. I installed Bora wheel adaptors to the rear axle to space the wheels out to the same width as the front axle (these are simply bolted on and can easily be removed if desired). I upgraded the factory trailer receiver hitch to a Reese Titan with a 2-1/2" receiver tube (also includes sleeve for 2" shanks), and we installed a Drawtite (made by Tekonsha) trailer brake controller (same as the Prodigy P2). I have a full set of Husky rubber floor mats that go with the truck as well as a full set of CanvasBack rear cargo liners. I also have the original cargo area retractable cover and cargo net, both of which have probably never been used. Summary: Like I stated earlier; this truck was owned by my father and then myself since it was just a few months old. I pretty much know the entire history of the truck and I know it has always been properly maintained, cosmetically and mechanically. My dad drove the truck daily in the time that he had it and was always garage kept. My wife and I use the truck to pull a travel trailer and run errands to the home improvement store basically. I believe we have put roughly 10,000 miles on this truck in the last 8 years. Reason we are selling is because we want to upgrade to a 5th wheel camper trailer and we really have no need for an SUV tow vehicle. This truck needs absolutely nothing. The only thing I can think of that doesn't work correctly is the drivers side power mirror glass (sometimes wont move on its own). All the fluids have recently been changed, the tires are new(er) etc. I have most of the original paperwork that came with the truck including the original window sticker and registration. This truck was purchased from Dutch's Chevrolet in Mt. Sterling, KY, with the owner of that dealership being the original owner as his personal vehicle. I believe this Suburban has every available option with the exception of skid plates and block heater. Disclaimer: Although this truck is in excellent condition for its age, it is still a used truck. There is no warranty expressed or implied. I recommend anyone serious about bidding/buying this vehicle to come see it in person. My phone number is 270-765-9803, you can call or text at that cell phone number. Being that I am selling this vehicle privately, I will only accept cash or a direct bank to bank wire transfer. I have tried to describe this truck as truthfully as possible and I encourage anyone to view the truck in person before bidding if at all possible.
