My research shows that I would be the fourth owner. It was stored in a barn for 35 years before going thru a complete Body On Restoration. All restoration work was completely detailed in a ledger with the history going back to 4/23/1987. The GMC Pickup has been driven exactly 2162 Miles since 1987. The 230ci Flathead “6” engine was rebuilt on 5/2/1988 (Receipts Included). The engine runs very strong & smooth. The original transmission was serviced at the same time with a new clutch plate and pressure plate installed. The transmission is a 3 speed floor shift unit with all good gears. It does have a rough 2nd gear synchro & requires double clutching or slow shifting to 2nd gear. The rear end fluid was changed and both rear axle seals replaced. The paint is over 10 years old & done to look original in a single stage urethane that shows well, but still has some tiny rock chips and light scratches. The only major blemish is on the rear of the passenger front fender where there’s a dent and the paint is missing. As far as I can see the truck has had no rust repairs done. The entire frame & underneath has been cleaned and nicely detailed in black paint. The frame looks like it’s never been in an accident or had any rust repairs. The interior of the truck including the dash is nicely finished in brown paint to nicely match the seat. The seat is finished in brown leather which has a small rip on the driver’s side. All of the original Gas, Water Amp and Oil Gauges work well. The heat, horn, throttle, lights and blinkers all work. The windshield crank, side windows and door controls work smoothly without problems. I did a brake inspection and replaced all 4 wheels cylinders, fixed one front wheel bearing and flushed the system. A new battery was installed. If there was something to change I would replace the aftermarket mirrors with a set that is more periods correct. Overall it’s a nice, clean truck that you can enjoy driving or out at a car show! While on the hoist I noticed the steering gear box was seeping a little fluid. It looks like it will need a seal. Also, underneath the aluminum trim pieces located on top of the running boards there are some small holes that are visible when on the hoist. This would be more of a cosmetic repair! As you can see from the pictures the frame and the rest of the underneath look great! On Mar-20-18 at 09:06:13 PDT, seller added the following information: 3/20 I updated Photoshop with photos of the ledger which outlines the engine rebuild. Note on the 2nd page of the ledger where he states his "Plans are on hold pending bathroom repair and my upcoming separation from 20 years of marriage!"
