Vehicle Detail
There are two bikes for sale and they will not be sold separately. They are both 1965 Honda CB160s that have received café treatment, one mild and one more radical. The red 160 is a stock bike with a café seat bolted to the original frame. This belongs to a friend of mine. The tank is NOS and there are some nice minor changes like the handle bars, exhausts, and number plates. The frame has not been de-tabbed so the bike is easily returned to stock. This bike fires up nicely but the clutch plates feel stuck together and so it is not possible to ride; the bike stalls as soon as it is put in gear. A number of extra parts are included in this sale, one of which is a set of NOS clutch plates. The gray 160 has zero miles on a rebuild engine, new Keihin carbs, and new tires. This bike has been modified in ways that make it impossible to return to stock – the seat is from Lossa and the frame beneath it cut and a loop added to relocate the battery. There is also a Cappellini Moto oil cooler that required the permanent removal of the starter motor. All metal parts except the engine have been painted. The wiring is problematic – it started easily for quite a while (I would start it to make sure it didn’t lock up) but now there is no spark, so it doesn’t start. The stock foot peg bar has been removed and rear-sets attached. There are lots of extra parts. A CB160 tank, a Benelli headlight bucket and a Honda front fender painted to match the tank, exhaust pipes for a CL160, and odd bits and bobs I somehow obtained along the way. I have an electronic ignition from Charley’s Place (still in the can) and a new rectifier/regulator from Rick’s Motorsports (still in the box). The rims are high-shouldered alloy. There is an unopened gasket set and a complete set of stainless bolts/screws/nuts designed for the 160. I have about $4,000 into this bike. I am selling it because I got in way over my head and it is too pretty with too many upgrades to allow it to sit ignored in my garage. In the photos, you can see the Honda tank emblems have been replaced with custom cast medallions – those are NOT for sale. Neither is the Porsche, which belongs to my neighbor. There is a clear non-op California title for the gray bike and a clear Oregon title for the red one, which has never been registered in California.
