This original paint 1958 Silver Hawk had been in storage for many years prior to my ownership. It had not been licensed since 1972. It is completely original with the exception of me having the seats reupholstered last fall. It has had a complete tune up and carb rebuild to get it running again. It runs excellent. It has the original Studebaker 289 V8 engine and automatic transmission. All of the gauges work correctly! The speedometer bounces around a little but I'm sure with more driving it will smooth out. It has factory power steering but it has developed a leak. Still works, just needs topped off or repaired. The door glass is cracked but the wing windows, windshield and back glass are all perfect. The headliner and carpet have been removed. The floors were relatively solid and have had a generous coat of POR-15 put over them. It has the factory Twin Traction rear end (posi-trac)! The trunk is very solid. It runs and drives very well and is a lot of fun to drive! Draws a lot of attention! The brakes were gone through as well. New wheel cylinders and a master cylinder rebuild. It stops as it should with no locking up or dragging. Clean and clear Washington State title in my name. I also have a copy of the title I got when I purchased it that was dated 1965. Very cool! Also have the 1963 Washington State plates that were on it. Perfect candidate to restore or drive as is as what some would call a "survivor".
