For sale is a: 1998 Green K2500 Pickup truck. This truck has 164,020 miles on it. Other than it needing a new engine this truck is in good condition. Engine Issues:The original engine had gone bad, so I had a local shop put this used engine in. When they put in the replacement engine, they bypassed the engine oil cooler because it was contaminated with the bearing material from the previous engine failure. They said that I should be alright because the cooler was an optional accessory. It ran great for a few months. The problem came about when I was pulling a heavy load at highway speeds. The engine started knocking and clattering and would hardly run. There was also no oil pressure at engine speeds under 1200rpm. I had been watching the engine coolant temperature thinking that it would give me a warning if I was pushing the engine to hard. I'm guessing that the engine oil overheated because of the bypassed oil cooler and took out my main bearings. Other issues:-The security system will randomly not allow truck to start. Will usually start if I hold the steering wheel release lever and bang the steering wheel up and down a few times.-Windshield leaks above the steering wheel when it rains with the truck stopped. -Left mirror vibrates when driving.
