I would like to thank everyone who has critiqued my bike I learned I had 8 items which were not period correct. I have since replaced those 8 items with NOS parts,thanks to all of you it is even closer to being perfect. The listing ends tomorrow and I plan on keeping it forever the listing will end and not be renewed, I just wanted to thank everyone for their input and kind words...... Norm For Sale 1979 Honda CBX - 1000 I am the 2nd person to have taken on this restoration. The 1st person I purchased the bike from 3 years ago did an amazing job, I purchased the bike about 95% completed however, and he just ran out of money to finish it. I have spent 3 years searching for parts getting this bike into this condition, it spent 5 months of its life with me at Carl’s Honda in Boise Idaho getting dialed in, I would say with very high confidence, this has to be one of the most pristine CBX - you will find anywhere in the world. I am offering this up for sale. I challenge anyone to build one as fine as this example, not to say it cannot be done but it is going to be a process, not to mention how difficult getting NOS parts are becoming, as well as the insane costs, plus so many parts are now NLA, not to mention the time and labor invested into a project such as this bike. I cannot think of anything else at this time that either needs replacing or needs attention. I am happy to say I am finally done...... It has been an exhausting but satisfying journey to get it to as near perfection as one can. I have tried very hard to make sure items which I purchase are genuine Honda or NOS, however, some items as you will see listed below are after-market due to the items are NLA. It has just undergone a brand new paint job, complete top to bottom absolutely everything done, I mean everything. every seal, bearing, dust cover, engine internals, engine externals, please see below what has been done to this bike. While I was able to get receipts for most of the 1st part of the restoration, I know there are receipts that I did not receive. I know I am leaving a lot of things out that have been either updated or replaced. I have tried very hard to ensure everything on this bike is genuine Honda or NOS, even the dang zerk fitting is genuine Honda NOS. This bike only has 150.1 miles on the clocks since the engine rebuild, I got the bike with 38 miles on the clocks, as I stated it spent 5 months at Carl’s Honda when I finally got my hands on it, it had 68 miles once in my possession, I only use this bike for my coffee shop runs once a month, I do start the bike up every 30 days plus continuously run stable + non-ethanol gas in it thru the winter, and it also resides in a heated garage with my other bikes. I have only run the bike up to 4,000 rpms, as you can see from below the engine not to mention so many items comes directly from Bill at Tim's CBX, probably the absolute authority on Honda CBX'S. There are (2) items which are not original per my doing. (1) is the pipes, I had dumb luck and had the good fortune to be able to acquire a set of 6 into 6 pipes from pipe masters, these pipes are so rare they only import a dozen or less every year into the USA, and the cost alone is $2495.00 plus freight from Australia. They look amazing, they sound amazing, (2) I had the alternator replaced by Tim's with a alternator conversion, rather than rebuilding an original alternator which works mediocre at best, this one eliminates the brushes, clutches, regulator, and rectifier, no more crappy electricals’, it even charges at idle, total reliability. Who wants to take this out only to find out the electricals have gremlins? I also have the original alternator and rectifier which will be sold with the bike. The bike comes with the original owner’s manual, the original tool kit, and the original owner’s identification card, all the receipts I have, plus the service manual. Like I said there have been so many items upgraded, replaced, rebuilt parts I know the list below does not even begin to cover all the things done. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs, I am offering the bike up to international buyers as well, the bike can be purchased from anywhere in the world. The buyer will be responsible for arranging the shipping, I will do anything and everything I can to assist. I welcome serious buyers to have the bike inspected prior to making the purchase, no test rides. If the bike does not sell, it will be an honor to be its caretaker until I am gone.
