I bought this car for $9,000 from my best friends father. the best way to buy a used car is from the original owner and one you know. It has a amazing responsive 420 course power 8 cylinder engine. when you his 80 on the freeway you swear your only doing 50. First up I feel as if I should answer the questions here.1.salvage titleit does have a salvage title. I was parked at an intersection at 5th & mission in San Franciscoabout a year and half ago when a fire truck went through the intersection and the guy behind he sawonly the green light and did what we do when their is a green light. he proceeded forward and a low speed and he rear ended me. it was $10,000 by the repair shop recommended from AAA the guys insurance. they decided to pay me off and I bought the car back. I had the car beautifully repaired by a body shop up the street from me for $3300.00 no issues good as new #2- milage not documented I had an electric issue that was draining the battery. I took it to a guy in san francisco that specializes in european cars.he charged me 4 man hours and the unit where the speedometer had to be pulled out and replaced.now there no electrical issue here. However this where the milage issue becomes issue. he bought a used unit one for $600 and it contains the milage reading from another car. the other issue the led message light can't be read which is a common problem with a car from this era . everything on this is tied to the computer. the car has no more than 135,000 miles. its a very low milage bmw. until three months ago I lived in San Francisco with a mobile service and did not put many miles on the car. the bad gas milage it didn't matter in san francisco but three month ago I moved to des moines Iowa. the distance I am traveling are much greater and the cost of gas is just too much along with the cost of maintaining a beautiful car like this. 3. two weeks ago I put in a new radiator at the tune of $730.00 by beckley automotive in Des Moines. The radiatior is new & money well spent 4 control need to be replaced does not affect everyday use and non essential I told it’s a chip to be replaced . Expect to spend $800 to $1000. Again I driven it and told it’s nothing to worry about I spent $2000 over the last six months on maintaining this car and its in amazing running shape except for a few maintenance items. water pump & radio issue. the buyer would need to pick up the car at my home in Ankeny Iowa or we can arranged to have it shipped to you at your expense.
