1965 Shelby Cobra CSX6000 - 427 S/C DESCRIPTION This is a true Carroll Shelby Continuation Series 6000 - 427 S/C Cobra from Shelby Automobiles, Inc. and is chassis number CSX6066. Since the unfortunate passing of Mr. Shelby, the market has recognized the strong collector value of these timeless classics. A very important distinction of the Continuation Series cars is that they are titled as a 1965 vehicle, which puts them in far less restricted class with regards to registration, license, emissions, insurance, and foreign export. (check your local state regs). CSX6066 is currently titled and licensed as a 1965 “Historic Vehicle” in Maryland. It is fully documented with a copy of the original Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO), signed 9/29/2011 by Carrol Shelby and the original CSX6066 dash plaque. Cobra CSX6066 was sold new as a roller (without engine and transmission) to Planet Cobra in Sugar Hill, Georgia on September 29, 2011 (see MSO). In 2012 Planet Cobra sold it as a roller to an Arizona buyer. The car was stored until early 2017 when it was completed by being fitted with a 427 big bock built from a period correct Ford side-oiler block with forged pistons, hydraulic cam, 428 crank, Edelbrock alloy heads and intake, roller rockers, PerTronix distributor, 780 Quick Fuel carburetor with turkey pan, remote oil filter setup, hi-volume oil pump and a 427 Cobra road race oil pan. The engine builder claims that the engine puts out approximately 500 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. It is paired to a David Kee-built 4-speed Toploader transmission. This car is a rare weight saving Carbon Fiber hybrid offering carbon fiber doors, hood and trunklid. CSX6066 shows only 56 actual miles and is in as new condition.
