Up for your restoration consideration is a rare three year production Hercules Wankel motorcycle. There were only 1800 units produced and although the amazing rotary engine gave the engine the simplicity of a two stroke they performed like a much larger 4stroke. These bikes were built in Germany however have many Italian parts as well. DKW Nurnberger Hurcules -Werke GMBH Sachs. Hurcules was a subsidiary of Fitchtel &Sachs and imported by SachsUSA in Ohio. The 294cc produced 27-32 Hp @6500rpm had a 6spd wet clutch,4.5 gal tank and weighed just 390lbs. This bike was purchased in 1976 by a small dealer and never sold and as such only shows 615 miles on the clock. While in the elderly gentleman's care it was unfortunately dropped and sustained minor damage. Upon his passing the bike came into the possession of another local dealer and displayed in his shop until a friend purchased with a group of other vintage bikes several years ago. All documentation from point of delivery is included as well as owners manual and service manual. He has decided to part with this part of motorcycle history in hopes that the next custodian will restore to running condition. I have included many pictures please review all pictures thoroughly.
