Vehicle Detail

******** NO RESERVE AUCTION ********* This bike is your classic definition of a barn find. This bike has been sitting in a covered barn for decades. I have added photos or before and after rinsing the dust off of the bike. I bought in a package deal. I have inspected the bike, cleaned the carburetor and checked for spark. Carburetor is in great shape and the bike has spark and RUNS GREAT. Bike has good compression. I cleaned out the tank, the carburetor and put fresh Motul oil in and the bike fired right up. It would sit, idle and rev with ease. Upon putting it in gear, the but stalled. I believe that the clutch pack needs to be taken apart and cleaned, but should work after that. The bike ran and rode prior to being stored per the previous owner. The bike is in great condition structurally and it is 95% complete. Front and rear fenders as well as the side number plates are brittle and there are some cracks, but not uncommon due to their age. The tank is in great shape. Tank had a nylon tank strap, but it broke at one end when removing it. The strap is included along with the mounting screws and springs if you would like to have a new strap created. The petcock appears to be in great shape and does not leak. The seat vinyl is in great shape for it's age. Original owner painted over the "RM400" many years ago to make it yellow, but it looks great and is not peeling. Wheels are in good shape, frame is in great shape as well as the bars, levers and controls. The kill switch will need to be replaced due the button being missing. The left rear shock was removed and the spring was placed on a different shock, but both come with bike. You will need to remove the spring from the other shock and place it back on the original shock. Mounting bolts for the original shock are present on the bike. Only things missing that I can tell are the air box rubber boot/hose. Te air box is cracked, but the air filter cage is present. Please look over the photos to be sure of the condition. I have taken photos of what the bike looked like prior to rinsing the dust off and then photos of what it looked like after. Bike was purchased from a gentleman in his mid to late 70's that purchased the bike new. Bike was bought originally in California. It spent some of it's life in California, but was purchased in East Texas. Bike does not appear to have any any extensive corrosion on it. Frame and handle bars appear to be straight. Bike does not appear to have been ridden hard or very much for that matter. If you are wanting a project for the winter, this one is PERFECT!
