1978 Suzuki GS1000

1978 Suzuki GS1000 with original paint on tank and tail section. Paint is pretty nice for the age but tank has a dent on each side front from the turn signals. Motor has 37K miles, most likely original and never rebuilt. Compression is around 100 psi on each cylinder. Bike runs well, but carbs need some fine tuning. Tires are in excellent condition. Fuel gauge functions. What is new or recent on the bike: battery, handlebars, grips, Dyna "S ignition, Moto GPwerks stainless header, Emgo cone-style pod filters, Kawasaki KZ style mirrors, oil filter, heavy duty clutch springs, chrome Pingel petcock. What is changed or aftermarket: Accel ignition coils and wires, vintage Lester mag wheels, early 80's GS1100 aluminum swingarm, cool old and finned ignition cover, professionally polished engine side covers. Extra parts: the original mag wheels with decent tires, original swingarm, fork slider assemblies (left and right) for a single disc with aftermarket performance springs, dual disc front brake calipers with master cylinder and braided stainless lines, original chain guard, newly recovered and cut seat, extra original paint black & white "skunk" tank that's pretty nice (although it does have a couple of dings and some paint loss), decent front fender, new & unopened fork seals, shortened side stand, rear struts to replace the shocks, additional complete set of carbs (in pieces), the "GS1000" emblems for the side covers, original ignition cover, plastic seat trim piece that goes under the seat edge plus I probably have other small bits and pieces. Something to consider: recently, a set of vintage Lester mags similar to this set sold on Ebay for $1500 (I was surprised too). This Suzi has the Lester mags with the highlighted spokes and polished rim. These could most likely be used on a Kawasaki as well (though I don't guarantee it and would check with a knowledgeable source prior to buying or making an offer). Pull these off and put the original wheels back on and... Buyer is responsible for shipping costs or pick up. I will make myself available when the time is set to pick up.
