Vehicle Detail

Hi there!!! Thanks for viewing my listing. I’ve decided to put my 1997 GS-T up for sale. And after this, my 2007 Accord Coupe as well. The reason for selling my two vehicles is that I recently learned of Honda discontinuing the V6 Accord Coupe PERMANANTLY. I had hint of this back in January but learned it is definite on Friday July 14th when they made it official by announcing to the public. The selling of both my vehicles for a down payment is a sacrifice I have chosen to make to allow me to grab a remaining 2017 V6 Accord Touring Coupe by this Fall hopefully. It has been a desire of mine since the touring’s debut in 2016 and now is my one and only chance to have one new. As fellow car guys, I’m sure you understand. I’ve daily driven my 2007 Accord EX-L V6 since new (it gets 97% of the miles) and although not as quick or cool as our DSM’s I have come to love it for comfort. That being said let’s get to the point! Bear with me as there is a lot to say but my DSM is special to me and all needs to be known… Some highlights of the GS-T are a full Super 20G Hahn Racecraft 20G setup tuned to 18PSI, Walbro 180lph, 625cc injectors (came with the Hahn turbo kit), Apex-i N1 full turbo back with Active Silencer, Greddy FMIC, Greddy Type R BOV, and a Quaife LSD! Original Paint, window sticker, new OEM Key fobs, Michelin Pilot tires with 90% thread, Apex-i N1 Exhaust with active silencer, Cry02 Liquid Carbon Dioxide intercooler sprayer that’s full, and fresh Infinity Reference Speakers and powered sub! Between purchase/restoration in 2008 and now 2017 I have only increased the mileage from 87,000 to 93,000!!! I only take the car out of its garage bay to put one tank of fuel through it each summer then re-detail and cover for 9 months out of the year. (I’m sure this could be verified on Carfax or whatnot.) After I completed restoration in 2010 I got engaged and bought a home and have almost zero time for the things I once did and quite honestly it sucks. I just haven’t had it in me to let her go, but finding my fav daily of 10 yrs. (V6 Accord Coupe) is being retired for 2018, has finally made me decide it’s time to give this to someone to enjoy!!! OK now to the important! History – I am the second owner. I purchased it from a physician I work under who had bought it new in 1997. He drove it bone stock through med school and then in the early 2000’s began modifications. I purchased it from him in 2008 (he got married had kids and bought a Benz SUV) and being very OCD and particular, over the course of 2 years 2008-2010 invested $8,000 (all receipts are provided) in basically a restoration project. I had just graduated x-ray technician school and bought my 2007 EX-L V6 Accord new and wanted this to be up to par with it! This restoration including a few weeks spent at Mitsubishi Motorworld in Wilkes Barre PA being worked on by James the Master Tech for major work like clutch and timing belt etc. When I purchased it, it was in street tune and making “just under 300WHP” according to Scott Collins (the radiologist), and he gave me several time slips in the low 13’s in the quarter mile (provided). I left tuning ALONE. I used entirely OEM parts wherever possible for the restoration as Rockville Mitsubishi (no longer in business) became a weekly phone call (you’ll see thousands spent there in the receipts). I basically spent 2 years nitpicking and restoring this like a retired guy would on a classic LoL! After all I had just graduated college and lived at home and had extra time and money. Throughout college I had always dreamed of doing this as I could not afford one during their heyday in the late 1990’s while in high school. So, all performance work was done by the original owner, all restoration work was done by myself and the Mitsu Master Tech at Motorworld in Wilkes Barre PA. All paperwork for all parts and all work is provided, you can have that huge red folder. To be honest I forgot how many manuals and how much documentation is in there until I dug it out of my filing cabinet, it weighs damn near 10lbs. Exterior- Original 1997 Saronno Red paint, many hours spent buffing with Maguire’s 3 Stage Cleaner, Polish, and Wax. There are some dings and there are some flaws. Most notable is the pealing clear coat on the spoiler. I decided to leave that as I didn’t mind it looking gracefully aged. I replaced both Door Seals as well as all 3 Windshield and Rear Window Washer Squirter Jets and Wiper Blades with OEM parts. I replaced both Rear Hatch Support Cylinder Arms with new OEM. Also worn badges were replaced with fresh OEM emblems from Rockville Mitsubishi. Interior – I shampooed all inside upholstery and had custom factory spec floor mats made for the front and rear (gray carpet with black binding), and all-weather store-bought rubber mats are included. The windows are tinted with 35% Llumar Tint, and was done in Virginia. I also performed the DSM Tuner’s sticky bulletin steps for fixing the door rattle and replaced all door clips with fresh OEM while they were apart. Electronics, Stereo, and Lighting - All functions from the original OEM Infinity factory CD Player to the OEM Changer in the trunk work perfectly. There are zero known issues with any electronics in the vehicle. All gauges, lights and functions from power sunroof to cruise control work like new. I installed a new Diehard Platinum AGM battery which being kept up on the trickle charger through the years for 9mo/yr. holds charge perfectly still. I replaced the OEM Infinity dash, door and rear speakers with Infinity Reference speakers. A 6.5” component set in the front, and a 6x9” coaxial set in the rear. My old pastime was an audio guru. This was my first taste of performance as I’m mainly and audio and electronics nut. The reason I chose to stick with Infinity was because they made a 2-ohm set and that is what the factory speakers measured with my Fluke meter, so I wanted to properly load the OEM Infinity Amp under the passenger seat. I also ran an 8-gauge power wire and tapped the rear 6x9’s to a Stinger Electronics LOC which feeds a powered 10” Bazooka Tube (most people think it’s a pair of 10’s as the eclipse low freq. cabin gain is incredible) I re-lamped all external bulbs with Sylvania Lighting including Silverstar Low Beam, High Beam, and Fog lights. I replaced the horn with a brand-new OEM Mitsubishi Horn. Also, I purchased and programmed 2 Brand New OEM Key fobs! Both are included!!! One never used but is programmed. These cost me an arm and a leg, nearly $75 apiece. Engine- The are no known issues with the engine, it runs as smooth as an electric motor. The engine is internally stock and never has been opened, minus 2 steps colder NGK plugs, MSD competition wires, and a candy apple red valve cover all of which I replaced new. Valve cover is sealed with a FelPro top notch gasket set. I replaced the K&N Air filter with a brand new one, and the oil filter is K&N as well. Mobil One 10W30 oil is used (I flushed 3 times upon receipt of the car, yes, I have bad OCD). The oil pan was replaced with brand new OEM as it was dented slightly. Motorworld Mitsu did this. I also had James, the Master Tech whom used to work on these in the 1990’s replace the timing belt, balancer shaft belts, accessory belts, water pump, and Harmonic Balancer (all belts and parts OEM), flush clutch fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, adjust the throttle body, coat the underbody where there were any scratched areas (there is zero rust and this was done as preventative measures and by surprise by James as he too loved these stating it was the cleanest DSM he’d seen since 1999 and that’s a hell of a compliment from a master tech). I also had them drain and recharge the AC system, it is ICE cold. Zero leaks or issues were found, I just wanted a fresh full charge. Cylinder compression checked and is good as was the crankshaft endplay was measured by the Master Tech for me per special request and was found to be within factory manual spec as I was nervous of crank walk prior to investing all this time and money. All this is documented in that HUGE Red folder which also contains all printed owner’s manuals for the ECU and Engine management equipment. I sifted the internet to find and print all manuals and how too documents for all functions of the car. I was lucky to have James, Rockville Mitsubishi, and the online manuals as all 3 of these resources are no longer available. I also replaced the thermostat and upper and lower radiator hoses just for good measurement, all OEM. New OEM clamps as well! New Bosch Fuel Filter! Turbo- Hahn Racecraft Super 20G full top dollar kit directly from Hahn NEW in the early 2000’s…set to 18PSI with a MBC as you can see in the pics and tuned for just under 300whp. In second gear when it spools it will spin the tires at 40 mph. It runs consistent low 13’s on street tires. There is a Walbro 190lph pump feeding HRC 625cc injectors. The entire turbo system is connected with new Vibrant heavy-duty rubber parts as well as diesel style T Bolt Clamps. I took apart the standard rubber and clamps and over did fresh it just because I’m very particular and was concerned for boost leaks. There is a large Greddy FMIC. Also, a Greddy Type S GENUINE original blow off valve! A full Turbo back Apex-i N1 Exhaust system with an Active Silencer is installed. Hahn header with gray header wrap, Apex-i downpipe, and all the way back shiny as could be. The sound is nearly stock, but you could always pull the Active Silencer! It automatically opens straight pipe under boost though so makes for one hell of a roll race sleeper. Transmission – The transmission is stock internally with the exception of Royal Purple Synchromesh fluid which I flushed 3 times upon receipt and a Quaife LSD. New OEM drain and filler plugs as well as crush washers. The clutch I had replaced by Motorworld and provided the parts. ACT Streetlight aluminum flywheel, Street Disc, 2100lb Pressure Plate, OEM throw out bearing, OEM release fork, OEM Pivot Ball, OEM Slave Cylinder, Goodyear Braided steel line bypassing the factory plumbing (removed), and OEM Master Cylinder are all fresh and new. Also, the entire clutch pedal assembly is rebuilt with fresh pivot parts, the cotter pins and shafts and washers as it was creaky. Lubed with white lithium grease and now silent and perfectly in adjustment. Also a Quaife LSD!!!! That was installed by Scotty prior to purchase. I took photos back then of the clutch items so I included the photos, all of that is installed though, by the Master Tech, parts labor receipts provided of course. Suspension/Brakes/Tires – The car is lowered with an Eibach Proline Kit. The alignment was off so I had the rear corrected to factory specs using concentric bolts. The front was corrected to factory specs using Moog adjustable upper ball joints. Front and Rear Upper and Lower control arm/ball joints were ALL replaced with OEM units. Both the Inner and Outer Tie Rod Ends were replaced with brand new OEM units, as well as fresh inner Tie Rod End Rubber Boots! I replaced the brakes with ATE Premium pads and slotted rotors, and they grab STRONG. I adjusted the emergency brake to factory spec and inspected the mini shoes. I installed NEW Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tires ($250 each, my flagship Accord coupe runs them stock so that is why I chose them) on immaculate stock wheels. They are still 90% thread. Also included is a set of NITTO drag radials on a pair of BRAND NEW OEM wheels. All 6 wheels are 100% immaculate. I put the radials on once to see if they gripped and the car still broke them free under a boost at 40mph lol. The 20G is scary when it comes online. I never raced the car, just enjoyed the top end pull of a 20G here and there. Roll acceleration is frightening, yet you can drive off boost all day and get damn near 40mpg since the turbo spools to full boost at 4,000RPM. Engine Management – The engine has the original PCM and is tuned via piggyback tuning with an Apex-i Super AFC, the original! And has remained dyno tuned and untouched since the early 2000’s. There is a HKS Turbo Timer and a Wideband O2 sensor, and a Scanmaster 3i diagnostic computer! I have it set to show timing live. Also, I installed a Cryo2 Liquid Carbon Dioxide Intercooler sprayer with a custom made remote with arming switch and fire button that emits a beep and a blue LED while spraying. Everyone always asks if it is nitrous lol! The tank is about ¾ full still!! I had Scott’s Specialty Gas in Williamsport PA fill it once upon setup. All wiring was taken apart and redone by me using proper 12v interconnects and automotive grade wiring, soldered and heat shrunk and routed in loom tubing and cable ties alongside factory wiring for a stealthy look. I am an OCD electronics nut so when it came to this, I really took my time. Upon receipt of the car I was dissatisfied with wiring neatness as this is my forte so I straightened that all out immediately. I want to add that this engine management although functioning well is finnicky. One day when cool and dry like in the fall it will spin the tires at 40mph when boost hits and suck you back in the seat. Other hot and humid days it sometimes pulls or sometimes breaks up a bit under boost. It has always done this since day one, the original owner warned me it is finnicky. My guess would be that it would benefit from a modern tuning platform like DSM Link and the knowledge of one of you DSM gurus to make it a consistent monster. Thank you so much for viewing my listing, and I’m anxious to hear from prospective buyers. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I work mixed second and third shifts so if you don’t get a reply for a bit don’t worry! I’m an x-ray technician and sometimes get mandated for overnight. Now all this said, it would be my dream to sell this to someone who either keeps as is and takes great care of it but enjoys it fully …. or finally picks up the torch and switches to DSM link and do what Scotty intended to do and what I dreamed of doing, open and build the motor, turn the 20G up to 30psi and STOMP the new tuner crowd and maybe take down a few Hellcats!!! The car currently has a fresh tank of Sunoco 93 and I will give all paperwork and OEM fluids to you! I have a fresh set of Mobil One and K&N Oil filter and K&N air filter recharger kit, all unused and sealed, you can have all that too! I’ll pack it all in a neat cardboard box. Drag Radials, Car Cover Included as well! Oh, please feel free to check me out on eBay, I’ve been here since the year 2000, and have nearly 200, 100% Positive feedbacks!!! Thanks again and have a great one! Yours, Mike Thompson
