Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a 1973 Triumph GT6 Mk3 project that I am reluctantly letting go of. Please read the entire listing and view all the pictures to get an accurate description of this rare car and it's potential. I purchased this car a few years ago with the intention of completing a full restoration. It had not been on the road since around 1992 based on the California license plates. It was mostly intact and original. I have restored several Triumphs and this was the one model I had fond memories of but never owned. Unfortunately I just don't have the time to complete it. 1973 was the last year for this underrated car. This particular car came from the factory with the much desired, and hard to find Overdrive transmission option and is covered in code 126 French Blue with code 11 black cloth interior. It was upgraded early on with now very rare BWA wheels. It was originally sold in California. Produced in September of 1972, it's a very early '73. This was the 180th '73 produced out of a worldwide total of 2745. I have brought this car back to life. The engine now runs great. The overdrive goes in and out when activated. Now it's time for someone else to make it beautiful again and get it back on the road. This is a partial list of the work completed to date. (receipts included) Two 73' matching carbs acquired, rebuilt and installedNew cap, rotor, points, plugs, wires and Lucas sport coil installedNew belt, hoses, clamps and fluids installedCorrect gas tank flushed and installed with new sending unitFuel pump rebuilt and new filter installedFront calipers and rear brake cylinders rebuilt with new pads and hoses installedBrake and clutch master cylinders and clutch slave rebuiltRebuilt transmission shifter mechanismNew battery cablesNew accelerator and choke cablesTR250 chrome rocker cover and K&N air cleaners added (originals included) Included are five original steel wheels and GT6 center caps. A brand new dash pad installed over the original base. Beautiful new USA made original style wood dash set. An absolutely gorgeous UK made steering wheel and other items not shown. Also lots of spare parts and all the original pieces that came off the car (bagged and tagged). The car does have some minor rust issues but nothing that can't be easily repaired. The floors need replacing but I have both new UK made pieces. The passenger side has been cut out and the new panel trimmed and fitted. All it needs is to be tacked in. The rear wing front ends have small holes. I have both pieces. The passenger side has been cut out and is ready to be replaced. The leading edge of the roof has issues as seen in the pictures. There are other places that need attention but nothing serious. If you have any questions or need additional pictures please ask prior to bidding. A winning bid is not an opportunity to inspect and re-negotiate. Car is sold on a Bill of Sale. Deposit of $500 via paypal is due within 48 hours of auction end. Cash or wire transfer preferred for final payment. Final payment must clear my bank before vehicle is released. Vehicle will need to be trailered and you will need extra space for parts and original pieces. It will be the responsibility of the buyer to either obtain a title through one of several titling services that specialize in antique automobiles or use the bill of sale I provide to title the car in your state, if your state allows this. Please do your homework and familiarize yourself with what will be entailed.
