Oh crap. We are selling the Golf. We love this little car, but it has some issues, like right now, it won’t start. So yeah, there's that. But, if you are a V-Dub person and know how to fix these cars you will have scored a great little car! Or even if you don’t love VWs fanatically, but you are a mechanic, or have a cousin who is a mechanic, or whatever, then this might be the car for you. So whats the deal? When it does start, it occasionally flutters on idol, and then sporadically won’t start - like right now! But yesterday it did start - I drove it even! \_(ツ)_/ But to be clear - right now, today, it DOES NOT START. It has thrown the engine light a few times in the past which has read as multiple random mis-fires. Within the past year or so we had the fuel pump replaced, the coil pack replaced, all the plugs replaced, and the fuel injectors were also cleaned. But it is still having issues. The last time it was doing its sporadic not starting (aka, now) our VW mechanic did some diagnosis and was heading toward an electrical issue - his thought was there might be an issue with the wiring from the ECU or the ECU itself. But, we are done putting money into it, so we didn't have him diagnosis any further - which is why we are selling it. Cosmetically inside and out it is in very good shape - couple minor pings/dings, paint on the front bumper is peeling - its 12 years old. Check out the photos. To look at it you'd think for sure it would start up no problem, but it doesn't. Tires are like new. I can take more pics if I'm not showing something you want to see on it. We are the original owners, and the 3rd owners. What? My pop bought if from us for a spell and then we bought it back. We don't smoke - so unless someone broke into it at some point specifically to smoke in it it has never been smoked in. It passed PA State Inspection May 2017. JULY 5th UPDATE: Went out today and it started right up - I grabbed yesterdays Philly paper for a date reference. So, yeah - there is that now too. Who knows what tomorrow will bring??
