Vehicle Detail

Hello Car Community, Please read thoroughly, this car will need to be towed but I'm looking for a good home for a Bimmer guy! For sale is a 1988 BMW 325i Convertible in-black. This is a project car and was something I was going to fix up however, I've run out of time and would like to focus on other priorities. I purchased this car used last year and it was driving great, however, it ended up sitting in my driveway after it developed a leak directly from the gas tank (which was the product of a bad patch job by the previous owner whom I wish was more honest). Nonetheless, let me try to describe this car. The Good: Engine ran well the 5 times I took it out in the summer heat, great idle and smooth acceleration. BMW Sport Seats and BMW Sport Wheel 5-Speed Manual shifts good and has the "wooden trim" handle "New" tires that appear to have plenty of tread, not name brand "Doral Tires" but have 480 utqg treadwear All Stock -Car frame appears to be in a good shape with no-rust (car appears to have lived most of its life in North Carolina). Most notably, the wheel wells are in great shape. Paint is in good shape though there are minor dings and a few scratches on the trunk Hella Lens lights and turn signals are all in good shape The trunk locks and so do the doors (although Driver Side will need to be lubed) Top does not leak, though, it did have one 3" rip that was neatly patched near the drive side (previous owner says he accidentally cut it with shovel). Top does not have a motor, this seems to be a common fix for these cars. The Bad: Car needs new gas tank installed (I have a used replacement included) Odometer stopped working when I hit the "reset," I am fairly certain that mileage reflected is within the 100 miles that I had actually driven the car Interior Carpet is dirty and its probably best to eventually remove or do some type of deep clean Dashboard has the relatively common center cracks that many BMWs have Front valance has cracks, though this appears purely cosmetic I have no paperwork, other than the valid title. Additional Notes: *Includes Gas Tank (used from a 1991 parts car) and Fuel Filter.* If price exceeds $1200 in this auction I will include a timing belt kit & water pump kit that I purchased online with the purpose of changing these. ***Again: This car will need to be towed, however, I will work with you to make sure you can get his at your convenience.***On Jun-24-17 at 07:03:27 PDT, seller added the following information: EDIT, 6/24- I'd like to make sure to take more pictures based on questions that I have had. Here's the link with more details: https://www.flickr.com/photos/149789149@N04/ A few more things to note: -eBrake button is sticky and is difficult to release (probably just needs to be adjusted) -the cover under the steering wheel was taken off when I bought the car and I believe it was to replace the pump. It is included in the trunk, there are new pictures added. -I'm having difficulty opening the hood. I have moved it as forward as possible (over the cowl) but I believe the latches will need more grease and I didn't get engine pictures (I'll try again and add if I can get them). -Battery is back on a tender to charge- I believe it'll turn the starter but I cannot make guarentees since it had been in my basement for ~4 months. Please ask any other questions- I'll do my best to help. This still needs to be towed and is aged, but I think the bones could help someone & it seems to have a good body. On Jun-24-17 at 11:49:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Edit: Here's another set of pictures. This is from the engine bay: https://www.flickr.com/photos/149789149@N04/ Thank you for checking back! On Jun-24-17 at 17:29:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Update, 8pm, Saturday: I have reinstalled the battery that I was storing inside through the winter on the occasional trickle charger. The battery seems to have kept its cranking power. The starter motor cranks, air works along with the headlights. **I was testing the windows and unfortunately the driver and passenger side main windows would not operate (it was as if the electric motors weren't getting enough power). The dashboard idiot lights show change oil and check brakes.** None of these conditions were the case when I last drove the car so I wanted to add this full disclosure of updates since I know there are many people watching this item.None of these problems occurred when I was driving the car. In fact, I had windows and top down so I would like to add this as a full disclosure of condition. Please let me know if there are questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
