Vehicle Detail
This is a 1999 Honda CBR 600 F4 sport bike up for 3 day auction sold AS IS with NO Warranty. Be assured I am describing this bike accurately. It has always had a strong running engine and smooth transmission. Cosmetically it could use some new plastic. The front fairing near the headlight has been zip_tied by my bike shop ( also called frankensteining it) after it fell over on my trailer. The seat has also been reupholstered. It also has a Yuasa battery. I have owned it since 2010 when I purchased it from a private seller in Winston Salem. I'm selling it because I don't have time to ride anymore, and I'm trying to downsize. I used to ride it daily on a 2 hour trip to work each day. Plastic fairings are cracked. The bike could use new plastic all round. Tires are worn; may need replacing. READ CAREFULLY: I took this bike out to get gas on 5/25/17. The engine was running great. I rode it for over 2 hours with no issue. When I was exiting off the interstate to head home, the exhaust sounded muffled and the bike began to stall. I pulled over to a gas station and when I stopped, the bike stopped. I tried to crank it and it was turning over but would not start. I opened the gas tank to check fuel level and I had ridden far enough to burn half a tank. I topped the gas off wth premium. I tried to start it again. It turned over but it did not seem to be getting fuel. I called my wife to come get me and we hauled it back home on my trailer. I rolled it off the trailer this morning and briefly tried to crank it. It turned over and sounded like it was closer to cranking than yesterday which makes me think carbs need to be cleaned. When I came back into the house I had many messages about interest in the bike. My wife and I have agreed that I can sell it in its present condition and let the buyer do the needed repairs. We just bought a new vehicle a few days ago, and we were expecting to have some funds from the bike. The problem could be the fuel pump. It might be the carbs needing to be cleaned or readjusted. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know. What I know is this bike has always run strong and shifted smoothly. It will absolutely fly. I had it up to 100mph yesterday. Last night I had to end the auction early and cancel bids on the 7 day auction that was ending because I did not want to misrepresent this bike. I believe bidders should be well informed, and I want to get positive feedback for this listing. Highest bidder wins! Local pickup only. Nonrefundable deposit $500 due within 24 hours of auction end. This bike is being sold as is with no warranty. Please ask any questions or voice concerns before bidding. Anyone is welcome to have it checked out by a mechanic or come for a test ride if it cranks. I want this transaction to be as transparent as possible. Happy Bidding!!
