NO RESERVE AUCTION! This beautiful 1966 BMW R60 was recently discovered here in California after being stored for over 20 years. It was last registered in 1985 and still retains its original California "Blue plate" with the 1985 registration sticker. The motorcycle belonged to an automobile collector who was heavily involved with the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. He had a vast collection of cars and motorcycles, but his passion was V-16 Cadillacs. The gentleman passed away in 2009 and it was recently purchased from his family. After purchase the bike has just been taken apart to evaluate its condition before it was started. As you can see from the inspection photos the bike was in excellent mechanical condition, the pistons, cylinders, splines and entire driveline was in excellent shape. The carburetors were cleaned and resealed, the heads and valve covers were resealed, as was the driveline. All of the fluids were changed and with a couple of kicks the bike fired right up and ran great. The bike now starts cold with one kick.
