This is one very unique and rare truck(I’ve never seen one) that started life as a 1961 F250 4X2 built at the Mawah plant in Dec 1960 with the 292 CID V8 and Automatic Transmission. It was converted to 4X4 with the addition of a Rockwell Standard Corporation kit that has U.S ARMY stamped on the ID plate. There is a Braden Winch driven off of the PTO. From the cowl back the body is a purpose built aluminum coach that was specially outfitted for Fire Rescue with multiple access doors and panels along with several hand operable spot lamps. There is still a C.B. (Chlorobromomethane) tank present along with the operating instructions for filling and using it. The rear bed is outfitted with a very unique arrangement with access doors on either side and 2X large rear doors that reveal storage shelves and a separate lower bed storage area. The cab has a single driver’s side door and an additional storage access hatch behind the passenger’s door. The body is in remarkable condition for a service vehicle of this nature with some minor nicks and dents (see all 100 pics). There is some rust present where the original steel body and floor meet the aluminum coach work visible in pics that should be fairly easy to remedy. The original 292 V8 engine and automatic transmission are present and while the truck was started to load it on a trailer for transport here to the shop, we have not attempted to start it (the ignition switch has been by-passed with a series of switches) therefore no mechanical assessment of the PTO winch, engine, transmission or any other system has been made (due to our filming schedule we are unable to perform any additional work on this vehicle for you SOLD AS IS/WHERE IS! Undersides pics reveal a fairly solid chassis with superficial rust present on most of the steel components with the original split rims outfitted with a set of aggressive off road tires showing quite a bit of tread. This 1961 Ford F 250 4X4 Conversion Fire Rescue Truck should be completely serviced prior to attempting to start or any extended driving to ensure safety and reliability and due to our filming schedule we are unable to perform any additional work on this car for you (SOLD AS IS/ WHERE IS). Don’t miss this rare opportunity to own a very unique and rare truck. Clear Title in hand! Perfect for a Bugout Camper or your pre-apocalyptic commuter project. Suitable for a Classic Collection, Museum Quality restoration project and Advertising or Promotional use you decide. The winning Bidder can take delivery here at the shop, or we can assist with shipping logistics (check with your shipper or freight forwarder for a quote from Dallas Texas 75229). His father worked three jobs his whole life—two to make ends meet for the family, and one to buy toys. Neither a mechanic nor a fabricator, his father took pride in his car collection. Needless to say, this stayed with Richard. Rawlings was always working, and always chasing pipe dreams. By twenty-one, he’d been a cop, a fireman, and a medic. But he wanted more. After a rough stint of sleeping on his sister’s couch, he got his act together and entered the world of trading sales. Here he solidified his business savvy, and went on to build an advertising and printing firm from the ground up. The company grew to become a “juggernaut” in the Dallas area. A mere four years later, the company sold, and with that money Gas Monkey Garage was born. Aaron Kaufman worked at a shop Rawlings frequented, and loved the stuff Rawlings brought in for him. Kaufman always went above and beyond for him. When Gas Monkey opened, Rawlings called him up and asked if he wanted to work for him. The premise was simple: Rawlings wanted the fastest, most expensive, most badass hot rod shop to be found, with apparel and a show on Discovery to boot. Kaufman thought he was crazy, but signed on anyway. Eight years later, the shop is all that and more. They owe their success to a strict business model. They don’t buy parts—only whole models without too much rust. Owing to his business background, Rawlings has a handle on the market, and knows the price he ought to pay. In ninety days or less, the job will be done, whether they start with a decent model or a carcass. Then it’s onto the next job without hesitation. If a finished car sits too long, Rawlings will sell it at a loss. He’s interested in a killer operation, not a stockpile. Their roles within the shop are clear. Rawlings is first and foremost an entrepreneur. He wants to sell a style, push a brand, and make sure Gas Monkey Garage never stops growing. Kaufman runs the shop, armed with his mastery of mechanics, electrics, and fabrication. The dynamic is vital, the common ground being their mutual love of classic cars. Rawlings has always been an old soul when it comes to cars, and his style has brought in a steady flow of clientele who trust his no-B.S. methods. “Anyone can go out and buy a Ferrari.” Rawlings’ dream car? “A 1932 Ford Roadster—the holy grail of hot rods.” Terms and Conditions: Payment Options We accept the following payment methods: - Cashier's Check/money order - Loan check from eBay Financing Center - Cash (in person) Vehicle Pickup & Shipping All shipping charges are buyer's responsibility.
