I bought this car new in 2009 and it's been my daily driver ever since. It recently suffered a cylinder failure. I listed a photo of the dealership diagnostic evaluation I received a few weeks ago. I have since bought a new XT and need to sell this one. As seen in the photos it is worn. There are areas of faded paint and a few dings and whatnot. I used it as my daily driver and did a lot of fishing from shore using this vehicle for my gear and kayak for fishing as well. Up until the Cylinder #1 failure it was running pretty well. It needs someone who can fix it up and use it. I do not know how to work on engines and the dealership told me it would cost 5-6k to fix it. I couldn't justify putting that much into it. As for how it works: the AC stays cool when it's not that hot out. It doesn't stay cold when it is real hot. Here in FL it's been working well since I had a new compressor put in last fall. When it gets up into the 90's it doesn't stay very cool. I didn't want to spend the $1500 it would have cost to rework the entire AC. I had a new timing belt put in about 50k miles ago. One of the gaskets to the engine leaked about 20k miles ago and they ended up replacing quite a few of the tubes into the turbo because they were cracking when they tried to bend them while getting to the gasket, it was not the head gasket. The navigation works decent, although the night mode does not light up as bright as it used to. The day mode works fine. It has never been in any type of accident. The door has a small ding I got about a month after getting it. I'm sure there are other things it could use but other than the engine being basically shot it's a decent project for someone. It starts and runs but as you may imagine it is very shaky and really needs to be towed from where it is parked in south Sarasota, FL. I've never sold a car on ebay and I'm hoping it's a better option than craigslist. I don't want to deal with people who are trying to scam me or low ball me or any of the crazy stuff I've heard from friends who have sold cars on craigslist. Please email me with any questions. I want the purchaser to be happy with what they are getting and don't want to misrepresent what it is. I'd recommend being someone who can work on cars and can get parts and all that. I'm pretty sure you could double the value at least if you knew what you were doing and had the time. I don't have either.On May-05-17 at 20:18:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had some questions that I wanted to answer in the description. The tires were purchased as a matching set in late 2015 and have about half the tread left I believe, but I haven't had that measured. The accident listed on the report was from a car backing into the rear bumper, you can see the dent in the photo of the back of the car on the drivers side. It also had the passenger window busted out when someone robbed it and I had a new one put in. I didn't get that window re-tinted. The seats are in decent shape, the drivers side power seat works, the heaters work and there aren't any tears in the seats, but the middle armrest does have some indentations from our large dog. Again, this vehicle was my daily driver up until it died from the failed cylinder about a month ago. It will start and run but should not be driven and will have to be towed from where it is to ensure no more damage to the engine. I forgot to take pictures under the hood and I will try to get that done this weekend.On May-07-17 at 08:06:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some more photos and wanted to add even more but it won't let me delete any of the other ones and I'm at the limit. I took a photo of the engine w/o the cover that goes in the middle, which is not attached but in good condition. It needs a few of the small plastic connectors, it's been sitting on the top and not moving around w/o them. The back tires (pictured) have a bit more tread left compared to the fonts, but it's not that much of a difference. I will be getting the electronic title converted to a hard copy tomorrow or the next day, depending on my schedule and when I can get to the DMV. I do not want to ship the car anywhere and will require local pickup and again I highly recommend that it is towed away and not driven, one of the back tires is looking a little low on air so It would be ideal to pump that up a bit.On May-07-17 at 12:08:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I decided that I am willing to ship this if the buyer sets up a truck to pick up the car from where it is and it's all paid for by the buyer. Also payment would obviously have to be made in full. I also wanted to mention there are a few little plastic knobs and whatnot that have come off of their original places over the years. I have a few of them that may be able to be put back on. I can't add anymore photos to the listing to show them, I'm just trying to be as accurate as possible about the overall condition.
