Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my much beloved 1965 Ford Falcon Futura. I bought this car on eBay over 10 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed her ever since. I have toured and rallied the car in the Pacific Northwest, keeping her running in top notch form. We have several cars and at this point, some are not driven enough, thus the sale. This car has been partially restored. The paint is average driver quality, the body is straight and we fixed all the rust we could find when she was repainted in 2010. The door jambs, undersides of trunk and hood, and engine bay were all done at the same time as the exterior paint. I rechromed the bumpers at substantial cost (over $800) and they still look good. Some seals are new, others around the quarter windows could use replacing. I did not rebuild the motor as it's really strong, but I found an original air cleaner for it, and we rebuilt the brakes a couple times until they were just right. We installed an automatic choke recently, so starting cold is easier. The carb is either new or rebuilt, I honestly can't recall which. The transmission and steering rack were rebuilt in 2010. Car has a great sound system, with speakers specially built in the footwells. Top works fine and looks nearly new (because it is). Taking the car to the next level wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. You'd be repainting over a decent paint job, and taking apart things like window frames for rechroming (there's some pitting in these). This car is best used as it is until you dent it up, find rust, or want to change the transmission, then it could be more completely restored. Car is great for local shows as is, but you aren't going to get trophies at the big shows. The car is available in the Portland area for inspection, and I encourage you to come see it. I can be available to show the car Friday March 17th or that weekend. If you'd like more photos, let me know and I can get them then. I am also selling a 1961 Linc Continental Convert in Sultana white with Turquoise interior so watch for that one if you are a Ford fan. Questions, email me or call 503.703.3622.
