Vehicle Detail

Up for consideration is a sturdy American classic. The old family station wagon, complete with the wood paneling. This is a beast of a car that doesn't handle like a brand new Mazda, but it has so much more personality, it's a different creature. The bad: It has some fading on the paint. The rear window doesn't want to roll down for me. The gas gauge isn't working. And, it will cut out and die occasionally, especially when you stop/slow for an intersection, and then try to accelerate out. It sat for a long time and has some varnishing of the gas, (according to the mechanic). It would probably benefit from having the tank boiled out and the carb rebuilt. It recently decided to drip some coolant. (a slow drip, I just noticed some on the ground where it was parked for a while) UPDATE: I haven't seen further dripping. I think it has a rear light that is out. The good. It has a new fuel pump just put it. It has tonnes of personality and gets lots of attention. I don't drive it often, but I've had multiple folks pull up next to me and ask me about it. I've had two notes on the windshield with unsolicited offers to buy it. It get's noticed. I've seen photos of these fully restored with fresh paint and they look great. Headliner and upholstery are in good condition. Glass is in good shape and there are no cracks on the dash. It has a new gas cap even. The air conditioning and the radio works as well. There is life in the tires. I haven't noticed any other problems. It shifts well. Has a 390 8 cylinder engine with a two barrel carburetor. We have a new baby in the house and my wife has been encouraging me to move this on to someone who will appreciate it, basically since I got it. I've had it for a year so I don't know much of the history. I got it from the estate of a person who I was told was the original owner. It has a clean title and is ready to go. I have it as a local pick up. If you need it shipped, I can work with your shipper to get it sorted out. I probably wouldn't drive it across the country myself without spending some time at the mechanic first, so if you're living in Tallahassee, look into shipping before you buy, please.
