Please read the entire add. This is a 1986 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible. Jaguar did not make a convertible this year so this was sent to Hess & Esenhardt in Ohio for the conversion. This car was recently donated to a local foundation and we are offering it up for sale. The Good: It looks to have new tires and it runs and drives nicely. Starts right up with no issues. I have driven it around the block and to the gas station but not further than a mile or 2. The top is powered and goes up and down fine. The interior is ok however it looks to be original and faded and cracked. The Bad: It has an exhaust leak on top of the engine that it looks like someone used some rubber or something to attempt to plug. It has a really nice 30 foot paint job. It has been re-sprayed at some point however, there are dings, touchups and rust showing in a couple places. Drivers window will go up and down but needs some help. Some lights work some don't. Lucas wiring :). I may take the time to see if it is bulbs or fuses in the coming days but don't count on it. H&E put dual gas tanks in. Previous owner has removed the lower tank as it was leaking. So fuel capacity is half. Top looks good from a distance but it is in bad shape. Assume it will need to be replaced. The boot cover is in the trunk but I don't know the condition. OEM radio needs a code to turn on. There are no books, manuals etc. Nothing but the car and one key. I have not put the car on a rack so i have no underneath pictures. I will try to get some this week. Overall, it is a good looking car that is in need of some TLC. Let me know if you need different pictures and I will see if I can accommodate. On Jan-31-17 at 18:21:02 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, I should have done this earlier. I finally looked under the car. It does not look good in the floor pans directly behind the front wheels. There is some rust there and on the drivers side, has rusted through. The previous owner has apparently attempted to patch with a piece of metal tape under the drivers side carpet. The rest of the underneath of the car looks good though. I pulled the carpet up in the trunk and it looks fine as well. Someone has cut the exhaust and used some metal clamps to patch it back. I am going to assume that this was again the previous owner as he did tell me he had some transmission work done recently, so this would make sense. If you want the pictures, send me a message and I will send them to you. eBay won't let me have more than 24 pictures. I was asked the question about badges that are missing. What you see is what you get. I did check the tool bag in the trunk to see if someone had stuffed them in there and the only thing in the bag is the original jack and handles. Also, I will not assist with arranging shipping. I will meet a shipper and watch them load it, but will not release the vehicle unless funds have cleared the bank. No exceptions. Thank you.
