Vehicle Detail
Up for auction, advertised first time anywhere up for sale is this 1971 Chevrolet Custom/10 Deluxe Step Side Factory 400 1/2 Ton All Numbers Matching, Still Registered To the Original Owner With 71K Actual Miles. Purchased New on March 12, 1971 at Bill Barnett Chevrolet in Compton, California (Los Angeles). The original owner wanted a black on black step side with the 402 engine. He chose the deluxe model over the Cheyenne for one reason, he did not like the rear cargo light.List of factory options include air condition, power steering, chrome bumpers, Custom comfort package & wooden bed. Fully documented including most of all the CA registrations, mostly all the early ones. Original sales contracts listing factory options & dealer paper plates. Few receipts documenting the original 71k miles. In 1983, it had 052, 894 miles. Owners manual & a volition ticket. A photo of the Big Block taken a few years after purchase (75/76'). As you can see the original owner mention, it was Never a work truck _____________________________________________________________________ Original front & back California Black Plates that have remained with the truck since 1971. Has spent its entire life in Los Angeles, California. Super straight & most important a solid original body. He had it repainted over 25 years ago to two tone burgundy with mohair interior & added the Chevrolet chrome rally's. He mention it was a show truck for some time & was won a couple times back then. It sat outside the last decade or so. All original floors pans, doors & sheet metal. Been lowered since the 70's. Not a bondo, butchered up, Frankenstein truck. Remains the original drivetrain Big Block 402 Automatic Suffix (TKB). Recently, drained all the fluids, new plugs/wires, rebuilt the original carburetor, new master cylinder & fuel pump. Started right up & idled well. Brakes, shifts just fine, no smoking. Runs & drives great! I do have the original air cleaner, window trim, front black plate & all the emblems. The dash glovebox was chromed and in the process years ago, the sticker was removed. Overall, a great truck for a full restoration or drive it around town like that. Impossible to find a original owner numbers matching big block C-10 today. Photo above is the original owner Mike with where the truck sat at in his driveway If you have any other questions, feel free to call me anytime at (562) 688-5205. Does have a clear California title.
