Vehicle Detail

Don't look now, but this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is a bargain for the right owner and a project car that runs, can be driven and sounds mean. This Firebird Trans am has a torquey 403 cubic inch V8, which was technically an Oldsmobile engine. It's a great runner and makes plenty of power, thanks to a 4-barrel carburetor living under the hood scoop, which was more decoration than function, but who cares when it looks this cool? What it needs: 1. Rear trunk pan needs to be cut out and replaced to rid the typical rust and suspension leafs will need to be welded back to trunk pan. 2. Driver and Passenger pans were replaced by previous owner, but they did not cut out the rusted ones, I personally would redo them as they did a poor job but up to the new owner of the car. 3. The Interior needs to be re-done. Some of the plastic interior parts are missing, but I have the door skins and they need some work. 4. Power window motors need to be replaced or can be changed out so they are manual. 5. Wiper motor needs to be replaced. 6. Heater unit and motor needs to be replaced or re-wired. 7. Driver tire well where the battery sits needs to be replaced or build your own battery tray. 8. New brake pads recently added, but rotors need to be replaced on the front of the car. 9. New tires the car sat for a while prior to my purchase. 10. Speedometer cable is broken and needs to be replaced, currently transmission fluid leaks by this area. The transmission however runs strong, no slips or hard shifts through the gears. 11. Exhaust leaks 12. New locks are needed for the doors and trunk. 13. Previous owner changed the car from the original factory red and had it painted burgundy, but it does not appear the body shop did a good job. There are some areas where the paint is bubbled up, but from a distance looks good. It will take some work, but these cars have steadily increased in value over the past few years, and there sure aren't many investments that are this much fun to drive. Especially if you were a fan of Smokey and the Bandit and want to exchange the 1979 front and rear end on this car to match the 1978 style car. I have set a fair reserve based on what people have been offering and what they sell for with some work. The car is for sale locally and therefore I have the right to end the auction at anytime. There is a $500 non refundable deposit (balance minus 500 still due) to be paid within 48 hours or your bid will be cancelled and a strike against you on eBay. Please do no bid unless you actually intend to buy. Shipping /transport is the buyers responsibility. Payment due in full before pick up. I will hold the car for 1 week after auction end.
