*Re-listed due to non-payment. PLEASE do not bid unless you are serious about purchasing this car and aware of all necessary transportation and shipping cost. 2015 Smart ForTwo Brabus Coupe, original owner, 12K miles with professionally installed turbocharger, water-to-air intercooler and free flow muffler with center exhaust purchased from Smart Madness. Complete Blue Ox RV flat tow kit ($2,100 installed by Mercedes of Lindon in Utah) with turn signal/brake light wiring and battery kill switch. Approximately another 15K non-mechanical tow mileage and new rear tires. THIS CAR IS NOT EMISSIONS COMPLIANT. It will appeal to one of two very specific buyers, either the owner of a small motorhome like myself who will have no problem registering the Smart in an area where emissions testing is not required, or the southern California subculture of Turbo Smart Car owners who apparently know a way around this. The GOOD: This has been my little grocery-getter for the last 18 months; it weighs only 1800 lbs, is a breeze to tow and a blast to drive. The Brabus kit adds go-kart like handling and head turning looks while the turbocharged engine makes acceleration onto interstates grin-inducing fun. It's been the perfect companion vehicle as I've traveled extensively around the US. I've now settled on two areas in which I live during the summer and winter seasons and no longer have the need for a very small, easy-to-tow grocery runner. I have purchased two larger vehicles - a Toyota 4Runner and VW Golf - that remain at each location, so this special little Smart is up for sale. ***I uploaded to YouTube a short video I made on Tuesday, December 13 of the car accelerating from 30-90 mph, which eBay is not allowing to be linkable. The title of the video is "2015 Smart Brabus Turbo 30-90 mph acceleration on December 13, 2016." Please check it out!*** The BAD: AGAIN, NOT EMISSIONS COMPLIANT. It is technically "for off-road use only" (again, I had zero problem registering the car in Summit County, Utah where emissions testing is not required.) The Check Engine Light is permanently on from the increased emissions of the turbocharger system not being in tolerance of the factory oxygen sensor. The car also comes with the custom fabricated stainless steel header from Speed Force Racing which replaces the catalytic converter entirely and allows for much quicker spooling of the turbo. It's fun but it's LOUD, so I currently have the stock exhaust manifold on the car for everyday driving. The front of the car has somewhere between six and seven bazillion pockmarks in the bumper and leading edge of the hood from being flat towed behind my Itasca Navion diesel motorhome. One of the lower daytime running lights isn't working and the chin spoiler is slightly loose from dragging it over a parking curb. The piggyback Engine Control Module runs rich (obviously better than lean) so the spark plugs tend to foul every 3-4 thousand miles, which is annoying to have to change them. I've lived with it and intended to have Speed Force update the ECM programming when I returned to San Diego this winter. Instead I scored a first come, first serve oceanfront RV space - one of only 9! - in Avila Beach near San Luis Obispo. If I leave it I will lose it!!! If you're in the Los Angeles/San Diego area, you'll want to swing by Speed Force Racing's shop to get the update. There is minor curb rash on the rear wheels, the clear coat is beginning to peel on the rear wheels, and one of the outer rims is slightly bent but holds air just fine. The bottom of the steering wheel is scratched from the bungee cord I have to wrap around the wheel when I flat tow it. *********************************************************************************************************************************************************** The turbocharger kit itself is well-engineered, nicely fabricated and properly sorted, with scores of Smart Turbos currently running around southern California without issue. It is NOT a one-off afterthought simply thrown together in some guy's garage. Visit Smart Madness or the Speed Force Racing website for details and pictures. You'll also see the kit itself with the water-to-air intercooler versus air-to-air, center exhaust free flow muffler and upgraded blowoff valve approach $6,000 plus at least another $1200 for the install. It's not cheap. Please email any questions and I'll be happy to answer. Clean title is in hand. I'm fortunately in a position where return on investment nor return of investment is important. Let's have some fun. Happy bidding, NO RESERVE!
