1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition with 5.0 liter V8 and All Wheel Drive. I have had this Explorer for 10 years and it has been a very dependable vehicle. The all wheel drive is great for wet or icy conditions and the entire suspension is in good condition. The engine starts quickly, is in good condition, and there are no check engine lights or other warning lights active. At times, the tachometer will jump or fall to 0. I have confirmed the computer is reading the correct RPM with a scan tool so the gauge must be faulty. It uses some oil, about half a quart in 3000 miles but there is no smoke from the exhaust so it may just be a small leak. I have kept up on all the routine maintenance. The radiator and hoses were replaced 2 years ago. I get on average 16-18 miles per gallon. There is a driver's information center that shows mileage, trip information, oil life monitor, and light status. All power options work and the air conditioner blows cold air. The factory radio has been replaced with a Kenwood CD/MP3 player which works well and the factory CD changer does not work. The driver's side window rolls down slow but works. There is minor staining on the carpet and floor mats and the driver's side leather seat has a very small cut in it. The paint is in good condition, there are some small scratches and dings but nothing major. There is some paint scraped off to primer just above the hood from the hood flying up after I failed to completely latch it after an oil change (the hood hinges were damaged but have since been replaced). On the undercarriage there is some moderate rusting but no structural problems that I can see. The power sunroof works great and doesn't leak, but the headliner on the sunroof sliding cover has a couple small spots that are falling down. The rest of the headliner is still intact and not falling. There is only one key fob and one key included. The rear doors won't open from the inside because the inside handles are broken. The rear wiper doesn't work, I think it needs a new wiper motor.
