This '81 El Camino looks good, runs good and sounds nice and "throaty." It is quick and fun to drive! The engine was completely rebuilt and has only 1,075 miles on it. It has leather bucket seats with new carpeting, headliner and door panels. Also a cool automatic floor shifter, vintage gauges, dual 3" exhaust tips, Pioneer stereo, and too many new parts to mention. It is from Florida, so it is rust free. It has a straight frame. The front tires are nearly new. The rear tires have about 50% tread remaining. It turns a lot of heads and gets many positive comments, but it is not a "trailer queen." I purchased this El Camino late last year on eBay for $9,500 from a Florida seller (he started at $12,500 but needed cash). I then paid $1,050 to have it transported to California. Unfortunately I didn't think about California's stringent emissions requirements. My mechanic advised me it would cost thousands of dollars to equip it to pass the California smog test. So I haven't registered it; instead I am flipping it. Buyer responsible for transporting.
