Vehicle Detail

Great opportunity to buy a professionally built custom motorcycle. I have been building Café Racers for over 15 years, and professionally for the last 8.This bike was not built to look cool, it was engineered to increase handling capability and performance, and as a result, it looks amazing. Most café racers on the market are the product of a novice or hobby mechanic / fabricator who took a perfectly good motorcycle and ruined it by cutting it up, laying down some sloppy welds and fitting cheap ebay parts to it. This bike is in a whole different class. This project started as a bare frame (I bought six CB500 - 550 frames in one shot) and a motor found at a yard sale (which I completely rebuilt). 6 years ago I built a prototype CB550 race bike and was blown away from its ability to fall into corners to its stability at high speeds. From that bike I built Jigs and templates to recreate this in a limited production. This bike was the forth CB550 to be produced from those jigs.If you are familiar with CB500's and 550's you can see that the rear of the frame has been modified, relocating the rear shock mounts. The rear of the bike has been raised about 2.5", changing the geometry of the steering rake allowing this bike to effortlessly fall into corners. The rearset location is ideal for anyone 5'8"-6'2" not to say you will be uncomfortable if you are outside those measurements. You will be amazed at the though and neatness put into the mounting of electrical components under the hand formed aluminum seat (which contains no filler). I avoided as many cheap Chinese parts as possible with this build. Its got Magura (german made) Clip-ons, Tarozzi (Italian made) rear sets, USA made electrical components, Bronze swingarm bushings (Japan) and tapered steering bearings. Dyna electronic ignition and coils (USA). The upholstery is made from pig skin, which my upholstery guy had in his shop since the 70's. The front end is from a CB750 including the front brake system with has a Russel stainless steel brake line. Buchanan's stainless steel spokes and nipples. It does have emgo blinkers and rear shocks :(, but those can be easily upgraded. custom exhaust sounds incredible. This bike is a perfectly balanced 360 lbs wet, (180lbs on each wheel).I built this bike and sold it three years ago for $10,000 , to a guy who essentially used it as artwork for his office building. He started it regularly, but only put about 150 miles on the bike. The bike as no flaws and looks like it did the day I sold it. Starts first kick, everything works as it should. Bike comes with air filters, not velocity stacks. This bike has been featured on Pipe Burn's website, Café racers of Instagram, caferacerxxx, saintmotors and more.
