Hello , this is a chance to own a piece of Drag racing history this el camino was owned by Dode Martin from Dragsmasters in Carlsbad Ca . he built over 240 turn key dragsters His personal Dragsters are in the NHRA drag racing muesem . El camino Owned by Dode over 20 years . he okayed the dragmaster decals on the camino from the last owner . Dode helped start the NHRA he also toured the country winning many championships he is still racing a LS powered dragster he is the oldest and longest living and driving racer in the NHRA. About the Camino was told by Dode by the last owner it was a original big block 4 speed car the trim tag states built in California marina blue car black interior painted gold to match his dragster colors . Dode installed a 440 mopar motor which door emissions from California states 440 dodge motor still in door jamb he also fabricated a oversize fuel tank mounted in stock position . I bought this 2 years ago and had it shipped to Pa. with no motor or transmission I bought a fresh 396 from a 71 and a Muncie 4 speed with all new components mini starter , headers , new clutch, aluminum radiator , battery , new tires and wheels , carpet , new under hood wiring , replaced main harness with a good used one . camino has a 12 bolt 4:11 posi rear with sway bar , new front end parts , corvette steering wheel , gauges , original ca. plates, Pa. inspected , good glass , everything works as should starts right up new HEI , heater core , camino has power steering , power disc up front , tach , solid floors . paint has blemishes . camino is driven to work and cruises gets lots of a attention . has a high lift cam that sounds amazing . I work at Ultra-lite braked we sell race car brake components and we have a race that was built by myself you can see it on our website so car was built professionally not back yard deal . this camino is to be sold at a very reasonable camino price without it's history . The seat and door panels were also done by Dode and still look good just a fun car / truck to drive . Camino needs speedo cable and headliner will help with shipping but not costs I paid 1,100 from ca. not running which is more .
