Vehicle Detail
I bought this CJ7 in 2001 from its original home in Arizona. Then I brought it back to Cincinnati and it has lived here ever since. I drive it on nice days and have never been off road. It only gets out of the garage a couple times a month. The paint was a bit faded from the Arizona sun so just after purchasing, the body was resprayed the same original black you see today. A replacement 258 I6 was installed in 2002, along with fuel injection.Clutch was replaced in 2015.Alternator and battery replaced in 2015.Starter replaced in June of this year.Original transmission has no apparent issues and has always shifted smoothly.New radio with an auxiliary input for your smart phone/mp3 player. The rest of the mechanical equipment is original. It leaks a little bit of oil, as many CJs do. However, I have never needed to add oil between oil changes. The speedometer registers a speed but has never been accurate, especially with the 33" tires. Therefore, the displayed mileage is not correct. It reads 186,000 New tires in 2014 with approx. 2,000 miles driven on them.New front seats in 2013. As you can guess, the Jeep had no rust when it came from Arizona in 2001. However, it has had the past 15 years to soak in some Midwest moisture so there is some body rust on the floor pans. Several spots are all the way through. These will eventually need to be replaced. I have never done any metal work on the Jeep, it is all original. The frame is in great shape; solid all around. A full soft top and windows for the doors come with the Jeep. The top is not new but is in good shape. This Jeep starts the first time, every time and gets me around town without a problem. However, it has its quirks. I would not recommend it for a new driver or for someone who doesn't enjoy wrenching on their vehicle. Clear title in hand. Happy to arrange a test drive and answer any questions.
