This beautiful S2 944 is one of only 510 imported to the US for 1991 and mechanically runs very well and is great fun to drive, it would be relatively easy to cosmetically restore to concourse condition. It comes with service records dating back to 1999. This 944S2 is considered the best of the front-engined 944 line, which began way back in 1982 as Porsche’s entry-level model, replacing the 924. Fitted with the 3.0-litre, 16-valve power plant putting out a healthy 211bhp and a muscular 207lb/ft of torque, the combined result of which is astonishing acceleration, maximum speed and mid-range performance. The engine is the great feature of this car - it's been well looked after and still gives astonishing performance! Although the 944 S2 has fallen in value over the last few years, they are now appreciating rapidly as enthusiasts recognize the good value for money for what is outstanding performance allied with the coveted Porsche badge. Bodywork This car has the optional sunroof that tips up at the rear at the touch of a button on the center console. It works well and has a new seal. The entire panel can also be lifted out and stowed in the boot. The glass tailgate opens and closes correctly and does not leak but would benefit from replacement seals. Struts are a little tired but do hold the tailgate up. Headlamps raise and lower smoothly and quietly. Alloy wheels are in good condition with no significant evidence of scuffing and corrosion. Panel fit is as good for a Porsche 944s, and the. Body shell is fully galvanized, and so shouldn’t rust. Both doors operate correctly and the windows work well
