Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1931 Model A custom pickup hot rod. Cab is all ford steel salvaged from a 1930 Model A Tudor Murray model. Bed is from a 1931 Ford A Pickup. Both are original steel. Frame is fully boxed and new from firewall forward and cab backwards. Wiring harness is 12V and a Painless unit. It is wired for all lights and blinkers. (front blinkers not installed but the wiring is there if you want to add them). Chop is around 4". Body is channeled on frame. Bed is hardwood Oak that was sealed and installed myself two years ago. The slats are ship lapped to provide zero gap between them. The whole bed assembly hinges back to expose the 10 gallon fuel cell and battery, along with the rear end and airbag suspension. Drivetrain is transplanted from a 1972 chevy pickup. 350 Small block chevy, TH350 transmission, and 12 bolt open diff rear end. Color is custom root beer red / orange with slight metal flake and Matte finish. Many hours of custom airbrushed and pinstriped art throughout. Ford ID plate and Utah VIN plate. Title in hand. There are no issues registering this. There are some rust holes on the bottom of the doors and the bottom of the bed sheet metal, neither are visible from the outside of the car. The roof is open and there are plasma cut steel spider webs welded into the A Pillar corners for body strength. Now for the details:Front tires: Coker Classic Whitewall Bias ply 6.00-16Front end: Speedway drop spring over front end. Chevy 5 lug pattern.Cooling: Walker all brass radiator. Just had it cleaned and painted. Classic Schmidt beer can overflow. Aluminum flex fan. Runs at 150 all day in 100 degree city traffic. Never overheats.Steering: Model A steering box. Steers and tracks straight. Box is tight.Engine: Chevy Small Block 350. 2 piece RMS. Iron heads. Edelbrock aluminum intake and four barrel carb. Custom painted aluminum valve covers. HEI ignition. Leaks a couple of drops over 6 month period but is sealed up fairly well.Exhaust: Custom 4-3-1 lakes headers with removable internal baffles and turn outs. Black ceramic coated. ARP Hardware. (Fairly quiet when cruising, loud during acceleration).Transmission: Stock TH350 chevy 3 speed auto. Cooler integrated in Walker Radiator. Lokar shifter. Shifts great.Brakes: Hydraulic Chevy 2 pot master cylinder mounted below floor board. Chevy front discs and rear drums. This car stops very quickly and straight.Tilting front windshield with subtle tint added.Removable classic wood steering wheel with metal flake and clear coat.Aluminum bucket seats mounted on adjustable fore/aft seat frames.Custom paisley gray front and rear seat cushions.Stewart Warner gauges. RPM, Speedo, Coolant Temp, Oil Pressure, Voltage, and Fuel level. All are functional except speedo. (probably needs drive gear replaced) Backlighting works with headlamps.12 bolt open diff chevy rear end. 5 lugs. I am unsure of the ratio but it cruises at reasonable RPM at freeway speeds.Adjustable rear airbag suspension. Bags operate off of 1/4 turn ball valves and small CO2 tank behind drivers seat. It will still drive with bags dumped in case of loss of air. pictures are with bags around 2" inflated. The bags in the rear are very stiff due to the light weight of the car. Frame is setup to convert to coil overs easily if you want to.10 gallon fuel cell with functional fuel sender.1 year old Napa Battery with quick disconnect installed.Coker Firestone Dragster 8.2-15 whitewall rear tires.Round rear tail lamps with integrated brake, license, and blinkers.Custom rear bumper made of two large wrenches welded together.Electrical: Painless fuse box, flasher, and custom harness with modern 12V GM alternator. Rear mounted battery.Custom fitted indoor / outdoor car cover included. Some details about the artwork on the car:Matching green and white fine point pin striping on headlamps, radiator shell, windshield visor, dash, and bed tailgate. Done by various artists but they all match very well.Gold leaf inlayed air brush art above drivers door that reads "Is There a Problem Officer" with a Rat Fink style pig and doughnuts added. This was done by Chad Norman.Similar Rat Fink style open mouth middle finger on dash board. Also done by Chad Norman. As with any classic, this car has a couple of nuances... here they are:It normally fires up instantly but after sitting for a month or more, the carburetor loses prime and the engine has to be cranked over multiple times to start. This is normal for an open hood hot rod due to fuel evaporation. The bias ply front tires can develop a wobble at speed. I would recommend swapping to radials for any high speed long distance driving.Rear suspension is very harsh over bumps and dirt roads. The suspension is setup for good, smooth pavement. I would recommend switching to coil-overs if you plan on driving on poor roads. The upper hinge pin on the drivers door is slightly loose and could use a replacement.20 percent non refundable deposit via Paypal or cash within 2 weeks of auction end. Buyer responsible for shipping. This car will reliably drive freeway mileage but I would highly recommend getting it shipped or trailering it if you are not local. Shipping is the buyer responsibility. I can store the vehicle for up to 1 month after end date so shipping can be arranged, I expect payment in full before car is shipped. It is located in SLC Utah. I may be able to deliver it via flatbed trailer within 500 miles of SLC for a fee. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks and happy bidding.
