Vehicle Detail
This is by far the BEST VIPER description I have found on the internet. Enjoy:"Okay. Full disclosure. I almost killed myself in it. It is VERY powerful. Extremely, EXTREMELY fast. I’ve driven Ferrari’s that don’t feel as crazy as this thing. I am frankly afraid of it now. That’s right. It’s in my garage and I’m afraid to drive it because it’s like a crazy steroid bull that wants to kill me. I’ve done 130 mph on a Ducati while laughing into the face of death. The Viper is a completely different bowl of crack. The engine sounds like 40 pit bulls eating kittens while lifting weights. I cannot truly explain it’s power. It has whiplash acceleration in 3rd gear at 50mph. That sentence doesn’t even make sense. But it’s true. That’s why I’m telling you. I will not have your soul on my conscience. You need to know what you are getting into. What insane level of crazy you are buying. Can you resist the urge to mash down the accelerator? Can you? Because it’s like owning your own demon. A demon that wants to kill you. We all know one person that for the right amount of money would kill you. But since no one is paying, they smile in your face and go about their day. It’s like that except the Viper doesn’t bother to ever pretend it doesn’t want to kill you. And it will do it for free. Some brilliant engineer designed a beautiful sexy bulging body, fantastic suspension, great handling, aerodynamics, and all American style. While he was out on his lunch break, some demented maniac dropped 100 times more engine power than necessary into it and sent it out the door. It’s mentally unbalanced. Look, If you are the type of person that can be talked into having one more drink at midnight when you have a very important presentation or interview early the next morning, then the Viper is not for you. The whole car is constantly whispering sweet lies to you. “You got this”. “Open me up and ride free, you got this” “What are you a pussy?” “Just do it”, “Do it”, “you got this”. Do not do it. You don’t got it. You ARE in fact a pussy. And as we all know, pussy is mad good. But not that good. You will sit on the curb and settle your heart after it tries to kill you the first time. You will get back inside and it will immediately get back to the business of trying to get you to let it murder you. “You got this. This time you know. That last time was just a fluke. You ain’t no pussy”. Repeat after me. You Don’t Got This. But for $30k you can look the devil in the eye and take this ride. You were warned. " Not sure who wrote it, buy I cried laughing. Here is some NORMAL info: The first Viper concept debuted at the 1989 Detroit Auto Show, followed by prototypes; the late-1989 VM01 was powered by the 360 V8, but an 8-liter V10, already planned, showed up in the 1990 VM02. The original V10 was reportedly built with the involvement of Lambourghini, which was partly owned by Chrysler at the time; it was based on Chrysler’s venerable 360, but Lambourghini worked on the cooling system, crankshaft balance, weight reduction, and fine tuning. The Italian automaker’s expertise in aluminum was also tapped, since the Viper had an aluminum block to save roughly 150 pounds of weight. Legendary Chrysler engine designer Willem Weertman, who had designed the LA V8 the Viper was based on, was called in to help out. In the end, the Viper pushed out 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft on mid-grade (89 octane) fuel, with massive low-end torque for instant thrust. Unique features of the Viper version of the V-10, versus the V10 truck engine, includes a low-profile cross-ram intake with dual throttle bodies, the manifolds, oil pan, heads, and accessory drive; the compression ratio is raised, the pistons lightened, the maximum engine speed increased, the valves enlarged, the rods and crank strengthened. In the end, few components were shared with the truck engine. The car weighs a mere 3,399 pounds, despite the massive engine and sturdy transmission. Styling was reportedly guided directly by Tom Gale, who was also in charge of the first Dodge Intrepid. With hindsight, Jim Julow, Vice President - Dodge Motorsports and SRT Marketing said, "Back in 1992, the purpose was to re-orient what the Dodge brand was all about ... We wanted to come up with something that was so outrageous, so cutting edge, so purpose built that it said we still had a lot of car nuts around here; people with the know-how to put the most outrageous street car ever on the road." The Viper used a one-piece sheet-molded composite (SMC) clamshell hood. In its first calendar year, 155 Vipers were made (both 1992 and early 1993s. The beast of a car is tamed somewhat with factory air conditioning, a reverse lockout on the transmission, and an amplified radio antenna. ABOUT THIS CAR This car is gorgeously well kept and maintained. It was picked up for the private collection of a FLorida man that sold his majestic house with huge garage and this car ended up with the short end of the stick. It is in great condition mechanically and cosmetically. Just look at the pictures and judge for yourself. Tires are in 80% range and the brakes are newer than 90%. If you are looking for an investment, this is one of the top 10 cars that is projected to go up in value by 50% in the next 5-10 years. Yes please google it and you will see that this is safer investment than any bond and more fun than stocks.
