This 1955 Chevy 1/2 ton Shortbox stepside pickup truck was purchased in Port Lavaca Texas by the previous owner who brought the truck here to Iowa to do a restoration and make it into a daily driver. The truck was and is running and starts on the first fire. He installed a new master cylinder and made sure the headlights worked etc. He started the body work while he used the truck for short trip drives. He replaced the floors with new metal. He bought and installed a new tailgate. He reupholstered the seat and got as far as putting the truck in a primer paint so he could paint it back to the original color green. He could not finish the project due to a illness and sold me the truck. In my opinion, his body work was very amatuer quality and if you were to make this into a show truck, I would say you would have to address the body work he did. If you want to use it as a entry level daily driver tinkering with it while you enjoy it, his work is fine. Look at the pics and video to see what it is as everybody has their own opinion on quality of work. The things I would do to make it a drive anywhere daily driver, I would redo the brake wheel cylinders and lines (has a new master cylinder but only stops on one front brake.) I am running the truck off a aux gas tank but it does run off the regular tank but should be cleaned out before using far. the front vent window glass should be replaced. windshield looks good, side glass is there as pictured. As the video shows, I drove this truck 50 plus mph for over ten miles and it did not overheat, it does not smoke ,and I did not hear any knocks or misses. I really do not want to overcall this truck or undercall it, it is just a fun truck to drive and work on while enjoying without tying up alot of money.
