2006 Chevrolet 3500, Crew Cab, Duramax, 4X4, LTZ, Dually, Leather, DVD, Sunroof, all options available from GM and a lot of extras. I was a 20+ year GM Certified Service Manager and this was my personal daily driver until I got a company car. It was set up to tow my 5th Wheel Camper and we are going to a motorhome, so my baby is up for sale. We used the truck to tow about 5-6 times per year. This truck is up for sale locally and the Ebay Auction may be ended early. This truck is in South Carolina if anyone wants to see it in person. This truck has every option available from GM, hopefully I do not miss any: 146,150 milesDual Rear wheelsMetallic Grey paint is in well above average condition and shines well, look at the pictures and compare to the door jams.The Four Wheel drive works great and was only used a few times.This has the coveted LBZ Duramax Diesel (serviced every 5K miles) with Diesel Addiction (Wilmington NC) custom programming. There is a switch on the dash that controls a 150, 125, 80 (towing), economy and stock Horsepower settings on the engine. The high horse setting was tried 1 time to make sure they all worked and the truck is a bear on it. I drove it on the “towing” mode which controls the trans shifting along with throttle response. The engine monitoring is done by a Bully Dog Outlook system mounted in a custom mount on the Driver’s door pillar. I have never had an issue with any of it or the engine. Economy towing and legal speeds and the truck gets 20+ MPG.The Transmission has a Transgo Jr. Shift modification also installed by Diesel Addiction. Do some research, this is a standard mod to a 6 speed Allison used for towing. The trans does not shift different in normal driving but has a firmer shift under towing. The idea is to not build as much heat in the trans. The Trans also has a genuine Allison deep pan (extra 4 qts of fluid) and is serviced with Schaefer Synthetic Trans fluid. The Trans cooler has another popular mod where the cooler is re-mounted upside down. This basically moves the cooler up into cooler air and drops the trans temp under towing load by 20 degrees.The Hydroboost Brake system, Front Diff, Transfer Case and Rear Diff (locker) are all serviced every 30K with the factory fluids and additives. The extras: Eagle polished Aluminum wheels – upgraded 17 size. Comes with the 4 steel factory 17 inch wheels if you want them. 2006 models come with 16’s, I bought 2008 models and Diesel Addiction programmed the speedo and it is right on the speed. The Eagle wheels aren’t quite 2 years old.Michelin tires – the rears are at about 30-40% and the fronts are at about 10K miles since new.AFE washable Air Filter that does not require oil62 gallon Titan Fuel Tank ($1300 + installation), this is the best part of the truck. The Titan tank mounts in the stock location. The Hwy non towing range is over 1200 miles on a single tank. Get your fuel at hi volume outlets to avoid bad fuel and buy it at the cheapest places. Diesel Addiction programmed the ECU so all the calculations and fuel gauge are spot on. Magnaflow 4 inch stainless exhaust system – this system is not loud but is throaty. This is a cat back system and I do have the original system if you want it. The exhaust also has a cat delete pipe to reduce EGT’s and the original cat system comes with the truck if you need for a State inspection. It will take about 30 minutes to replace. The Magnaflow system has the 5 inch polished tip.20K Curt Fifth wheel hitchCamlocker tool box – best tool box on the market Firestone Ride Rite rear airbags – this takes the bounce out of the fifth wheel trailer when hitting the rollers on the interstate.
