1971 Dodge Demon!! You are looking at a 1971 Dodge Demon. This car was originally born as a Slant 6 but now has a fresh and healthy 360. I have owned this car for the past three years and drove it every day until the slant 6 finally gave up the fight (yes somehow). I recently pulled the slant 6 out and installed a rebuilt fresh 360 that runs and sounds even better. I will break down the car as follows. Body.The car appears to have one repaint over its life from about the middle body line up and most likely is original paint from that line down. If you look close you can see where it was blended. Overall the car shows nice for a driver. She is not perfect but the car is straight and shines nice. There was some body work done on the lower 1/4s which is why the car was painted black and broken up with a silver pin stripe. There are some small dings and small areas of fading and crazing on the trunk. The floors are solid and the trunk is very clean. This is not a rot bucket. The engine bay was painted in the original dark green metallic when I pulled the motor. The grill and bumpers are in excellent shape. Probably the cleanest original grill I have seen. The passenger door must of been painted at a different time in the right light you can see a slight color difference. I am probably being to picky but I do not want to leave any surprises. Again the car is extremely clean and looks killer. She gets thumbs up everywhere she goes. Engine-The 360 is a 78 dated block that has been bored .030 over stuffed with speed pro dished pistons. All of the rods were resized and balanced. All new bearings and moly rings. The heads are late model castings that were hot tanked and and received all new guides and valve job. The heads were then pocket ported and gasket matched on both intake and exhaust. With a mild 8.5:1 compression I went with Hughes Whiplash cam designed for a low compression 360. With 107' lobe separation she sounds nasty at idle but also makes smooth power all the way up top. Topping off the motor is an Air Gap Style intake and 750cfm Holley. Pro comp distributor and coil provide the spark. The pictures will tell the rest of the story. Trans/Rear/RimsThe car has a 904 trans with stock converter. The rear is still the 71/4 from the slant 6. This is not a race car and I do not beat it. It will treat you the same as it has for me as long as you treat her nice. The car will also come with a complete less drums 8.25 with 3" studs and 3:23's. I just have not got around to installing and the car runs so nice with the tall gears I have had no reason to put it in. The car has a 1 1/8" sway bar up front and a 1" sway bar in the rear. The car is a small bolt pattern car with manual drums. I have small bolt to big bolt adaptors on the car and running 17x8 Cobra style rims with dodge center caps. Interior.The car has a complexly original interior that is in fantastic shape. There are no rips or tears in the seats. The head liner is perfect. The worst part of interior is a small 2" crack on dash pad and a 2x2 square i cut in package tray so I could hook my daughters car seat up. Hurst ratchet shifter not he floor and a couple important gauges are the only changes. Overall.This is great car that you can hop in and go to your local cruise night and have a blast. It looks mean, sounds killer and won't break the bank. Is it a perfect show car? no. But it will get you the thumbs up and sounds awesome comments no matter where you go.
