Vehicle Detail

I bought this car from the original owner (I am the second owner). This car has been extremely well maintained its entire life. I currently own this car plus a 1999 Mercedes E300td diesel as well as a 2007 Mercedes R320 CDI diesel. I really enjoy my cars. They are a hobby of sorts for me. I enjoy them and I enjoy taking care of them. Every fluid has been changed within the past 2.5 years including the transmission fluid & filter, power steering, brake fluid, coolant, differential, and oil of course. Front brakes were just done a month ago, rear brakes have less than 20,000 miles on them. It has four almost new Michelin Primacy tires. This car starts right up and runs great. There are no check engine lights. The glow plugs work great. The AC is very cold. From a mechanical standpoint, the car is awesome. I drive the car across town, 80 miles roundtrip, at least once a week. The car runs really, really good! If you travel to Las Vegas to pick the car up, I would not hesitate to recommend that you could drive the car back home, no matter how far you live. If you're not familiar with the w124 series and this diesel motor, allow me to fill you in. This model was made when Mercedes had very tight quality and engineering tolerances. Many argue that those tolerances left Mercedes in the early 2000's, then returned in the late 2000's. This model doesn't have a ton of technology and computer driven driving systems, sensors, etc. As a result, the car is quite simple and very reliable. The engine is a 3.0 straight 6 cylinder diesel engine without a turbo. The lack of a turbo helps from a reliability standpoint, however, you won't be lining up to drag race anyone either. I have gotten over 40 MPG on the highway several times, going 60 to 65 MPH. With the mixed city & hwy driving that I do, I see 28 to 32 MPG on a regular basis. If you research this year of the E300, you'll find that this year has two well known issues.1) The wiring harness was made from wiring that would start to disintegrate and cause problems.2) The AC Evaporator would leak. Both of these issues have been replaced. I replaced the wiring harness in July of 2014. There is a picture with a red arrow pointing to the new wire harness which can be verified in person. The AC Evaporator was changed by the previous owner in January 2008. The inside is very, very clean. The car has never been smoked in and has had no pets. I'd say the interior is almost perfect, with the exception of a slight sag in the rear portion of the headliner. The sag is slight so I've never felt the need to repair it. It has never gotten worse in the time that I've owned the car, so I've left it alone. The car has the normal options including leather seats, sunroof, power driver & passenger seats, 6 disc CD player, power windows, power locks, cruise control, and power mirrors. The leather is in great shape and it is original. The leather in this car is so much nicer than the leather in my 1999. The sunroof and all power windows work. The power seats work but the power headrests have never worked. I added a Mercedes specific keyless entry system made specifically for this model's vacuum door lock system. Keyless entry wasn't an option in 1995. I have the two original factory keys, as well as two keyless entry remotes with keys included. I also have all of the original owners manuals and paperwork. The exterior of the car looks nice as well. There are some small door dings on a couple of the doors. There are two other dings, one just under the trunk above the rear bumper and one on the hood. They're hard to see in the pictures and not very noticeable in person unless you're looking for them. The left front headlight has a crack from a rock and the drivers rear view mirror is missing a bit of plastic. I will add pictures with red arrows pointing to the flaws. The black paint looks nice, however, the clear coat has begun to crack on the hood and roof. The paint hasn't cracked, chipped, or faded at all. Just the clear coat has cracks or crows feet in it. Overall, this car is a great value for the general condition, reliability, and fuel economy.
