Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a very original MG TD Green / Tan, that is in good, clean, weekend driving condition, with lots of new and restored parts. This MG is a Texas car and has no cancer and only very minor surface rust. The little TD is a jewel to behold, it is a real hand made, moving piece of automotive sculpture that is still affordable. This TD has been in a continuing state of driving restoration with many upgrades and refinements for a long time through several owners. The MG's surfaces are all very clean The TD's wood, leather, vinyl, cloth, carpet, chrome, steel, aluminum, brass, copper, glass, plastic, rubber and painted finishes are very nice, but the exterior paint and the bumpers are not perfect. The exterior fit and finish is in good alignment. The interior is stunning, tan leather, black carpet and Tan convertible top, side curtains, beautiful dash that are all look new. All parts on the car are ether new, rebuilt or restored to very high standard of quality and workmanship. just about every item on the car is working correctly, including most all the electrical items. This TD maintains its factory correct profile and appearance. The drivetrain is all numbers matching original to the car. The engines brass plate matches the tool box brass plate. The engine was rebuilt at some point in the past and runs great no smoke, good oil presser and only minor oil leaks. The carburetors were rebuilt . The generator and the voltage regulator were recently re-manufactured, new Lucas starter and recent SU fuel pump. The car is still running the stock point system that I just replaced along with spark plugs wires, spark plugs, cap and rotor. The engines bay has been nicely detailed to a show quality appearance, the engine and its accessories are very nicely painted, very clean, beautiful braded steel lines, brass fitting and copper pipes all with polished patinas. It also has a new stainless steel exhaust system and the undercarriage is nice and clean. The original 4 speed transmission just received a new clutch, presser plate, throw-out bearing and the fly well was re-surfaced and replaced professionally. The Mg's Transmission shifts nicely, has no usual noises, the gears are so nicely lapped in, 1st gear feels like it is synchronized, very easy to to make perfect shits every time. The cars steering and suspension are like new and feel good in the corners and at freeway speeds. When driving briskly you get good smooth feed back to the steering wheel and no vibrations. The modern Goodyear 15-165-80 radials help a lot. The braking system received a new master cylinder, new slave cylinder and pads and they perform great, with very good pedal feel. The brakes stop well on emergency breaking, very straight and full control until lock up. The car stops quickly with no pedal fade after multiple hard brakes. I just lubed and adjusted the fly away emergency brake system as well. I have just changed all fluids with fresh. 20w50 engine oil and filter, new type synthetic DOT 4 brake fluid, 90w gear oil in the rear end and 90w120 gear oil in the transmission. ATF in the dash pots, 20w motorcycle fork oil in the rack & pinion and the oil in the lever shocks, 50% mix of water and green antifreeze. I also lubed all the Zert fittings, so it is ready to be driven and enjoyed Overall the 64 year car is in good shape, has no excessive movement or unwanted noises or raddles and corners well.. The car is surprisingly fast and can hold 65 MPH in hot weather without overheating. It has been reliable lately, I just took it on a 80 mile round trip with out failure. This Mg TD represents a great collector value today and will only increase in the future.
