Vehicle Detail

I have been an ebay member since 2004. This is the very first item I have ever listed for sale. I have a 100% positive feedback score and plan to maintain this score. Please read the description of the car fully: Up for sale is a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro, 327 cid/ 350 hp, 4 speed on the floor with a 10 bolt posi traction rear end. I was told by the previous owner that the front end was rebuilt in 2004. The steering box is a little loose but handles well at interstate speeds. I traded for this Camaro a two car late model racing team (I miss my race cars). I had over $22,000 invested in the race cars, engines and trailer. My wife wanted me to retire from racing so I made the trade for this Camaro plus cash. This beautiful Camaro previously titled in Mississippi has a solid body, chassis, and running gear. The engine has a slightly noisy lifter at start up. It also has a new distributor and a new Holley 4 barrel carburetor that I installed. I also installed a new Motorcraft 600cca battery last fall. I installed a new windshield wiper motor that I cannot get to work. Most likely wiring trouble. The tires and brake are in great shape. We drove the Camaro last fall from Chattanooga, TN to the Pigeon Forge, TN Fall Rod Run (300 miles round trip) where I met a Camaro expert named Dave, from Ohio. I call him an expert because he owns eleven Camaros. I asked him to look at mine and he advised me that according to the VIN number, this Camaro was manufactured at the Los Angeles plant, a V-8 car with a 4 speed. He made a detailed physical inspection of the car and found no rust, no bondo, original quarter panels and re-skinned doors. He told me I have a very solid Camaro. This car gets noticed and waved at driving down the road. The paint job is a 6 out of 10 at best. The trunk lid has bubbles on one of the stripes and base coat. One bubble burst and a near-color touch up paint was applied. The clear coat has metal flake put in it and in some areas the clear coat was not applied heavy enough and the striping is not perfect. PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS. The paint looks like it was applied by amateurs in a barn. This car will not win a concourse viewing by any means because of the paint job. If you like the colors the door jams, engine compartment, inside trunk lid paint is perfect, so only the outside will need to be repainted. But driving down the road it brings nothing but happiness and waves from people. The interior has fairly new material throughout - seat covers, headliner, carpet. The new dash pad is missing a trim piece. The carpet wasn't cut quite right and the headliner is loose. The front and rear seats and door panels are perfect but the carpet and headliner look like they were installed by the same amateurs in the barn. It has race car seat belts installed and a parital Pioneer sound system with remote, only 1 unsecured speaker and a 340 watt subwoofer. The trunk also has the original trunk mat. I have installed a 3-pack gauge system because I do not believe the original gauges or odometer work correctly nor the heater switches. On the upside, this is a 48 year old Camaro and it is an absolute blast to drive. If you like attention, you will get plenty in this vehicle. If you want to do a complete restoration, retro mod, or clone, this solid Camaro is the car to do it with. If you don't mind some blemishes on the paint and minor interior issues that no one sees when you're driving down the road, as the Camaro expert Dave told me just enjoy the car as is and drive it. This car has a reasonable reserve and a reasonable 'Buy it Now' price. Anyone with under 20 positive feedbacks and less than two years on ebay please contact me before bidding or your bid will be deleted. I do not want to mislead anybody. PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS. I have tried to be as honest and forthright about the condition of this vehicle as I possibly can. Please contact me with any additional questions. Winning bidder responsible for pick up or shipping from Chattanooga, TN. Happy bidding.
