Vehicle Detail

1955 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop 327 4 speed. The car is exactly as I purchased it 12 years ago except for new tires and front hubs. It's been well maintained and driven to shows and cruises in the Pa, NJ, Del area. I was going to modify the car when I bought it but decided to keep it the way it is. The engine runs well and is reliable. Stainless, glass, and chrome are good. The windows all work properly. The non original paint and interior show well but aren't perfect. The headliner is white and clean. VIN and cowl tags are intact. I believe the car was black with a 6 cyl 3 spd. I purchased it after it was repainted so there could be bodywork. The body is undercoated and I've never lifted the carpet so it's hard to say how the floors are but I've seen no signs of repair. The front suspension, steering, and clutch linkage need work. The car is driveable but there's a lot of play in the steering. The trans shifts fine and the clutch grabs but there's also play in the clutch pedal. All due to age and wear. This is a 61 year old car. A lot of the parts are original. The lights, turn signals, horn, and newer stereo work but the underdash wiring is rough. Heater on/off and reverse lights are toggle switches. The gas gauge is not accurate. A wiring upgrade is strongly suggested. The brakes are the original four wheel drum and work well. I've panic stopped this car. The parking brake also works well. The trunk is clean and the rear shock mounts in the trunk floor are intact. Note, the T handle was changed to a ball (last photo). Shifts better and the T handle would come loose. This is a true old school hot rod. I think it's the nicest design of the tri-fives. It needs some standard work to keep it on the road. Selling as is, for the garage space. Note, the car is stored in NJ but registered in Pa (Phila.).For more information call Nick 610 220 6487.
