Vehicle Detail
1999 Chevy Lumina, 9C3 Police Package, Ex-Police Car from Appleton Wisconsin. I purchased this car from the Appleton, WI Public Works, Aug/15/2008 via e-Bay auction. At that time it had 65,044 miles on it. The body and interior are mostly the same as when I purchased it. THE GOOD; For a 17 year old northern car the rust is minimal and repairable. The 105,704 miles is quite low with a 6217 mile per year average. The interior is very nice. The front bucket seats are the factory installed cloth RECARO seats. I added a custom center console made for the Lumina Police cars. I had a remote entry/remote start installed when I first purchased it Also before the motor started ticking the following new parts were installed (at 103157 miles in Feb 2014) RADIATOR UPPER & LOWER RADIATOR HOSES TRANS COOLER AND LINES AC COMPRESSOR, CONDENSER, DRYER, ACCUMULATOR, ORIFICE, AND FREON. FRONT STRUTS, SPRINGS, AND BEARING PLATES REAR STRUTS AND SPRINGS OUTER TIE RODS ALIGNMENT THE BAD; As previously stated, BUT, to make sure everyone understands; The engine runs but has a Rod Knock. A certified GM mechanic stated; "it sounds like at least 3 rods knocking." (My wife has driven it, about 1500 local miles in the past 2 years, when her Windstar plays junk!) Also typical for GM products, of this era, it has all over DE-lamination primer/paint problems. It has been in Wisconsin & Michigan all it's time. See the pictures for the rust issues. THE UGLY; Also typical for GM products, of this era, it has all over DE-lamination primer/paint problems. It has been in Wisconsin & Michigan all it's time. See the pictures for the rust issues. It was my intent to swap a good engine into it. I am a retired Police Officer and love driving it. It was a speed enforcement unit, so the ECM is not governed and it was wicked quick! If you google the 1999 9C3 package you will see it has a hi-performance trans gear and suspension. You can even find whiners complaining it's quicker than their supercharged Buick's/Pontiac's in the 1/4 mile! Unfortunately I am also now disabled and my health prohibits doing the work. MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN. The Starting Bid is $750 less than I spent in parts during the Feb 2014 work described above. This is the last time! IF IT DOES NOT SELL AT THIS PRICE, I AM GOING TO PART IT OUT, SO WATCH FOR MY PARTS ADS IN THE SPRING!
