NO RESERVE AUCTION! Rare 1979 Jeep CJ7 Golden Eagle 104k mi - Russet MetallicThis is a blast from the past Golden Eagle Jeep CJ7. Motor:304 V8 5.0L motor that starts easily. It has dual exhaust, headers, cherry bomb mufflers that sound incredibly mean. Also has an upgraded throttle body fuel injection kit installed by Howell. It starts right up, no more pumping the gas on cold days or to get the motor fired up. There is a slight squeal when under the gas during the warm up, could be the belt or the water pump, I'm not sure. The motor runs great and I notice a slight drip after it sits overnight on the pavement. Transmission/Drivertrain/Transfer Case:4 speed T18 manual transmission shifts with ease. 1st gear is rarely used due to its low gearing unless off-roading. The clutch is very sticky, tight and operates perfectly. There are no crunching or grinding in the transmission or transfer case. The transfer case works fine however right now there are 2 different gear seats in the differentials. The front has 3.50 gears while the rear have 3.73 gears. In order to use 4x4 the gears must be swapped to match either the front or the rear differential. The Jeep drives great, has tons of power with the 3spd and it drives smooth. There is a 2" body lift on it which could easily be removed. The brakes work but need to be bled, the pedal doesn't feel like the power is working well or if at all. Under Carriage:The undercarriage frame is in excellent condition, I do not see any rust on the frame or moving parts. The under floors are in Excellent condition and solid. Tires/Wheels:The Tires are 235x75x15 Hankook Dynapro atm's with 95% tread life remaining (5 total). The wheels are factory original Golden Eagle wheels 15x8 in good condition. Body/Paint:This Body is in good condition but does have dings, small dents and several areas of scratches, worn paint but overall original paint is in good condition. Very little rust for this Jeep. there is a spot on the drivers rear body mount below the license plate but the passenger side was completely clean. The body has a couple spots were touch up paint was applied (rear tire carrier was braced on the inside of the tub and a spot was shot with red paint). Looks like the door jams have had touch up as well. The windshield frame hinge on the passenger side broke today when I finished taking photos, It snapped on the way back into position. A new windshield frame bracket can easily be swapped. The paint and body overall are ok, the paint is worn in areas but still shiny, has luster and reflective. The color is Russet Metalic (kind of a rust, red color - cinnamon). Interior: The heat, defrost, wipers, gauges and factory tach all work except the clock. The lights work on all gauges except the volts and oil pressure and the horn does not work. The factory Jeep steering wheel is in good contain with cracking on the actual steering wheel. There is a radio hidden under the black center seat and speakers behind the front seats. The front center seat normally is a place for a center console but there is a seat on this Jeep. I do not know if this seat is original. The dash pad is clean without cuts or blemishes. The odometer gauge was replaced at one point, the owner mentioned it was changed out right at 100k and the new speedometer read 38xx so thats why the listing shows 104k mi. The seats are aftermarket red high backs and worn. The rear seat is original brown denim in ok shape. The interior carpet is original and in very good condition despite the rear wheel wells faded dark from the sunshine. I try my best to illustrate the condition of the Jeep and what I know but may have missed something so feel free to ask any questions you may have. I ask that you settle all issues, questions and concerns prior to winning or bidding on my auction. Soft top: I have a soft top denim on the jeep, will update the listing with a photo. it is in good condition but has some stiching coming apart in places. The snaps, all factory hardware are included. The doors are a different color (spice) but I have a box of original denim door skins that will be included for the buyer. The top appears to be a bestop replacement top. Overall: There is an 8000b winch on the front Jeep but I do not know if it works. The remote I have was sliced and I haven't tried splicing the wires back together to see if it works. It is included! The Jeep is super neat and when I drove it today for photos I had a few people stop and ask about it. The Golden Eagles are very rare and super hard to find. This color is beautiful! It has absolutely no problems keeping up with traffic, driving in the mountains or on the freeway. It could use an alignment - the steering wheel is off center. Overall a beautiful, strong, fun rig. With a little attention the Jeep could be the perfect weekend warrior, offered explorer rig, beach cruiser, or even a daily driver. Auction Details/Payment:All Sales are final, sold as is, where is and without warranty. Please settle all questions and concerns before placing a bid and winning the auction. I do my best to illustrate the Jeeps condition but I may have missed something. It is a used Jeep and 30+ years old, it may have imperfections that I may have missed. Do not hesitate to ask questions. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as this jeep is listed for sale locally as well. A $500 non refundable deposit must be paid within 24 hours of auction end time via Paypal. The Jeep must be removed within 10 business days of the auction end time.. Many of my auctions end by a phone call if you want to get the Jeep before someone else, feel free to calling or texting anytime. #720.295.337two If you would like more photos in particular please reach out. Thank youOn Mar-03-16 at 18:08:43 PST, seller added the following information: Update: The soft top rear window is rolled up and I noticed some of the zipper unstitched. The replacement soft top doors from Whitco I originally thought was 2 in the box actually was only 1. I have the passenger side to include and is NOS. I believe will fill right over the factory hardware. The windshield frame where the bracket broke when I was folding it up. I peaked under the gasket today and noticed rust underneath. I would suggest replacing that windshield frame if you decide to restore the Jeep otherwise gob up the area with caulking where I pulled it back. The factory clock does not light up nor work. I have multiple photos of the undercarriage that I can email if you want them. Please call or text with any questions or feel free to sending an email here thru eBay. Thanks for your interest, good luck bidding. The rear end is a Dana 44 taken from a Jeep CJ5 with 3.73 gears. The original AMC 20 came apart while driving last summer and finding a duplicate was hard at the time. The front differential tag says 3.54 so the rear would have been 3.55 not 3.50. The turn signals: turning left works fine but turning right the blinkers stick.
