Last registered for the road in 1977, period tags indicate the 2000 spent its life in the Hermosa Beach area before it was withdrawn into storage. According to Alfa Romeo Automobilismo Storico Centro Documentazione, chassis number AR102.04.00358 and the engine number AR00204.00391 originally correspond to an Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider, manufactured on the 26th February 1959 and sold on the 3rd March 1959 to Hoffman Motor Car Co., New York, USA. The Spider comes equipped with its exceptionally rare optioned hard (missing glass and dented) and soft tops and remains an overall very original, solid and complete example to do a light restoration on. Its matching numbers engine does start and run, although a comprehensive mechanical service will be required prior to any road use.
