Vehicle Detail
1953 Studebaker Tristar Commander I purchased this car in the spring of 2015. The previous owner bought this car from an auction in 2000, and kept it in his shop where it stayed for 15 years. While he owned the car he never transferred the title into his name, as a result the title was misplaced. I have since filed and received a Texas bonded title. The car has a factory 232 V8 3 speed on column with over drive. The car is in great running condition. Since I have owned the car I have replaced the following, ( Rebuilt carburetor, fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel sending unit, water pump, master cylinder, voltage regulator, solenoid, points, condenser, and new 6volt battery). I also have a few spare parts to be included with the sale of the car, (2 Stormberg WW carburetors, 2 used fuel pumps, one 6 volt starter, one tristar hood emblem, new trunk seal in package). I also have the factory build sheet, and the car is equipped with all the correct features that it left the factory with. The car has an older restoration on it from the early 70's. It has a couple of old car show stickers on the dash from mid 70's. The paint has chips and flakes. The interior is in great shape though there is some discoloring in the door panels and headliner. The ignition switch was not working when I purchased the car, but there will be one included with the car. A freeze plug above the starter drips from time to time, though I will be including 3 new brass ones. The radio lights up but makes no noise, and the tires are weather cracked and will need to be replaced. The muffler is in need of being replaced as well. A $500 deposit through paypal no later than 24 hours after auction ends is required, and the rest will be due upon pick up. Must be picked up within 7 days after auction. Other than that she is a solid old girl with no rust. If I have missed anything or if you have any questions don't hesitate to call or send me a message. 903-491-6177. As you can see in the pictures someone has put a few panels in the floor pans at one time.
