Good looking restorable antique. This car is registered as an antique which saves on taxes in Kentucky. All original, except wheels and tires, which have been replaced by previous owner. (See pictures.) The color gets lots of compliments from men and this car reminds them of their first. The interior is in relatively good condition and with a little restoration of the headliner can be a real show stopper. Even the floor mats are original! Minor repairs, body work to repair the driver's door and clean up spots and scratches will make this beauty glow. An amateur mechanic can repair minor oil and transmission fluid leaks. The engine runs smoothly and the ride is just as you remember your first cars - like floating on a cloud. New wiper blades and old blade holders come with car. Four original hubcaps (for original wheels) come too. Air conditioning and heater work well as does the radio!. See pictures of wheels and tires. Driven by a professor at Western KY University and well maintained although it's unfortunate that service records did not come with the car. It is smoke free. Odometer shows 96,906 but surely has "turned over" one time. Therefore, actual mileage unknown. Minor issues such as window sweeps and door seals worn and the clock doesn't work. Interior lights, turn signals, and exterior lights all work. Description states a 305 cu. in. engine. I'm not positive, it may be the larger 350. With TLC the proud new owner of this '79 Pontiac can compete in car shows or a skilled mechanic can turn this baby into a real "hot rod". Payment must be cash or wired to bank. THIS VEHICLE IS A PONTIAC CATALINA SAFARI STATION WAGON. IT HAS A 301 CUBIC INCH PONTIAC ENGINE. I've only driven it to the dealer for an oil change and multi-point inspection and to the local gas station for a fill-up. The dealer reported the small oil and transmission leaks and the front end "needs attention". It drives very well but I have no experience driving it a long distance.
