Vehicle Detail

Very nice and mostly original Chevelle. It was one owner for over 42 years and has been in storage since 1987. Fresh rebuild on the matching numbers 402 and turbo 400 with a high end professional restoration under the hood. Interior is in excellent shape and all original (except the seat covers). The dash pad and headliner are like new and the carpet very nice. The body is in very good shape with a tired paint job. The car was a stripe delete and the stripes were added in the seventies. I am listing this car as a very old repaint however the sides an top may be original. There are two spots of rust through at the bottom of both fenders. The absence of any filler in this area makes me think the sides might be original paint. The car was a factory undercoat vehicle and the floors and trunk are perfect. all the body lines are excellent. the jambs are nice and without doubt original. As stated above the paints tired with some chips and a minor ding or two. the rust on the bottom of the fenders are the only real issue in my opinion, and the issue is minor. 12 bolt poss with F 41 suspension. Very nice build sheet that was recovered by the original owner when the seat covers were installed confirms Big Block Super Sport options. The day two options added by the original owner in the seventies are aluminum 12 bolt diff cover, headers, and the factory seats covered in diamond pleat. I built the car with power tour in mind. I intended to leave the period modifications and the patina while making a car you can drive anywhere. The numbers matching 402 runs excellent with a great sounding cam shaft, air gap intake with just over 350 miles on total rebuild. Brad Peen oil used for break in. Trans is fresh with a mild stall converter. two and a half exhaust with an X pipe and Flow masters exit out the rear. New brakes, tires, and radiator. The car runs perfect with excellent oil pressure, and you can not make it run hot. Shifts perfect and rides great. I fully welcome you or your agent to inspect this Chevelle. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction. The buyer is responsible for shipping. Also the car is a factory gauge vehicle with power steering and brakes. The tach and spedo work. oil light has new sending unit and works. Have aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauge under dash for reliable engine monitoring. The clock is not working. Also factory Am Fm works as it should. New heater core. The winning bidder will get the factory matching numbers intake as well as a restored GM points ignition, and one of the factory exhaust manifolds. I built this car to keep, however I want to finish my 69 and need money. This is a no reserve auction. I am starting the auction at the least I would take for the car (loosing my rear) price. Happy biding On Jan-03-16 at 11:13:18 PST, seller added the following information: I have had multiple request for more pics. I will have them posted by noon tomorrow. To include trunk, floors, more of engine compartment, and build sheet/trim tag. If you want anything else please message me. ThanksOn Jan-04-16 at 10:13:52 PST, seller added the following information: Added photos of build sheet are hard to read I will try to get some more. Easy to read in person. The trunk and floors are perfect. The factory undercoat did its job. It did turn that funkey brown color. Hope these help.On Jan-04-16 at 11:18:21 PST, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that if anyone wants to arrange for a restoration shop to look at the car or the build sheet (pictures dont do the build sheet justice) feel free to arange an appointment with one within 25 minutes of Bristol Tennessee/Virginia and I will take it by. Thanks againOn Jan-04-16 at 18:39:45 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to answer 396ss1951. You asked if the paint could be restored. In the pictures I posted today I posted one of the passenger side quarter. I hit it with a buffer last night and it came out ok. I will say in my opinion that it can not be saved. The cars finish is old chipped and tired. It has that finish that can only be obtained through age. So plan on a paint job if you want it perfect, or embrace a true patina seventies muscle car that the rat rod guys can never recreate. On Jan-05-16 at 12:18:53 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to add that if you have zero feedback please contact me before you bid. I have sold alot here, but never a car. If im not contacted I will have to cancel all zero feed back bids. ThanksOn Jan-06-16 at 08:07:31 PST, seller added the following information: I cancelled the last bid due to no feedback and failing to contact me. If you have no feedback please contact me first. On Jan-09-16 at 05:55:48 PST, seller added the following information: I want to address the engine of this car. It is not the born with block. It is a matching cast and pad numbers for the car. The trans and rear were born with the car. Block heads and factory intake that will be in the trunk are all 1971 casting, and the block came out of a chevelle. On Jan-09-16 at 06:20:18 PST, seller added the following information: Im answering alot of questions the last two days from members so im going to put a few of the most frequently asked here. The motor was completely rebuilt. It received three sleeves as well it was ballanced. The trans was done as well. The body of this car will need to be painted to be perfect. The only serious issue is the rust through at the bottom of each fender. The car has a couple of dings, chips, blemishes, some solid spots of surface rust. The paint is over thirty years old, if not older. I have over eighty pictures close ups and detailed of the car that I have sent to members. If you want them send me a email address. Thanks
