Vehicle Detail

HERE IT IS!! This is definitely NOT for the street rod snobbery elite! The fit and finish department called in SICK on this one. Now, if you're still with me, ON WITH THE SHOW! I present to you this original RAT! I remember, many years ago, when I could go to a car show or cruise in and everything had to be perfect, shiny, and polished to perfection. Then came a blessing to us "other hot rodders", THE RAT ROD!! This '41 GMC pickup has been rumbling around in my head since I was a kid! It doesn't have fuel injection, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, heater, or even door glass. What it does have, is an undeniable cool factor, and a "thumbs up", "or, "I love your truck", EVERYWHERE YOU'LL GO!! She's on a mid eighties S-10 chassis, so, modern ride and drive, the manual steering and brakes are very functional, and add to the"OLD SKOOL" appeal. as does the original steering column, because to me, a big, fat, modern column just wouldn't suit this build. This thing is rough n' reddy, so hang on! I also didn't go the "350" route, rather, a "baby" "327". I bored a 1970 model "307" .040, put in new rings on flat top pistons, and all new bearings, custom, high pressure oil pump"70-75"psi@ 55 MPH!! "30-45"psi@ 180*@750 RPM idle! Next, she got a new 270H Competition cams magnum camshaft and lifters, as well as new double roller timing set. The energy then goes through new lifters and push rods, to a set of 1.6 ratio (makes the cam bigger) aluminum, full roller rocker arms, which control the valves in a set of "605" casting "305 HO" heads, which are the ideal street head for this combo. An old style, single plane, Edelbrock "torker" intake, topped by a freshly rebuilt Holley "650" carburetor. An "H.E.I." distributor and Accel wires fire the plugs. Exhaust gasses exit through full length, long tube Camaro headers, to early Flowmasters via 3" pipe, well behind back of the cab. Now, back to power. From the "S.F.I." flex plate, into a "3,500 RPM" DAYCO torque converter, and 350 turbo with a mild shift kit, and controlled by a "B&M Z-gate" shifter, it is transferred to the S-10 rear, into 15x10 Cragar SST wheels, 50 series tires, and finally to the pavement. Now, this old truck is rusty, rattly, dented and dinged, but, the floor is super strong and solid, being started by welding steel framework in the whole cab floor area. Next, I screwed down a sheet of 7/16" O.S.B (CHIP BOARD), this was plenty sturdy and solid, but then I also covered this, (mostly for the look), with rough sawed, 1" pine, barn lumber (screwed down solid). Sure, sometimes instead of Lexan plexi-glass in a rusty frame, cranked out to let the breeze in, a sealed, safety glass windshield would be nice, but so many other people have them, and we want to be different! All in all, I'm just saying that this is a super-cool old truck, that's always the center of attention wherever it is, but even I'll admit, it's not for everyone. If you don't like rat rods, then move on, but if you do, then bid accordingly. Truck is sold as is, with no warranty. All sales final. On Dec-14-15 at 14:04:13 PST, seller added the following information: Check it out!! Here is a video of the truck running. Questions are welcomed.
