Vehicle Detail
1971 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe 2WD Fleetside LWB 8 Foot Bed This truck is a great driver quality vehicle, or restore as-you-go. Best Described as: "Your Favorite Old-Worn Pair of Work-Jeans" I bought this truck for my son, he wanted a stepside but we couldn't find one at the right price. After getting started on it, we found the step-side he wanted, so time for this to go: Here is what I know: Truck sat in a field for many years. Has rot in cab corners, front lower section of fenders, rocker ends, and floor where it meets the rocker. I tried to photograph all photos of the bad areas so look through the photos well. The rockers were replaced years ago, not professionally, but passable as a driver. When I bought it, it barely ran, had very little braking, and the trans only had reverse. The bench seat in in decent shape with 2 rips, nothing that can't be re-covered, seat springs are good. Windshield has a crack and is cloudy around the edges. What I did to make it a decent driver: Went through Brakes, lubed and freed all frozen parts, bled system. Manual Disc/Drum, works good. Needs pedal effort but works.Tune Up: Cap, Rotor, points, condenser, re routed wires, timing, dwell, and carb adjustment. Starts and runs well. Divorced choke FunctionalCleaned fuel system and replaced all rubber lines.Cleaned out all old coolant, replaced Radiator Hoses, Heater Hoses, and Radiator cap. New CoolantNew Oil and Filter Trans: Replaced TH-350 with used rebuilt unit. Trans has about 10K miles on it. No Leaks, Shifts great. New Fluid and filter. Wheels: Stripped, and Blasted old steel wagon wheels. Coated with POR-15 then topped with White Enamel, New Lug Nuts.Tires: 5 New Mickey Thompson AT tires. Tires have less than 2K Miles on them.Seat Cover: Saddle blanket styleMirrors: Replaced with Generic Chevy style side mirrors.Door Handles replacedDoor Locks replacedIgnition Cylinder replacedDoor Locks and Window Regulator freed-up and lubricated. Electrical: Repaired a couple of ground and power issues. Everything works except dome light.Bed: Rot in tailgate lower section and end of bed. Tailgate still functions fine. I plan on pulling up the bedliner this week just to photograph. I'll update ad when I have the bed photos. Otherwise universal bedliner does its job.I re-shimmed the starter, but it still sounds tight. Probably needs to be replaced. If I keep it i would replace: Starter, Master Cyl, Alternator, and update to a solid state voltage regulator. Otherwise drive it and enjoy.Original 307 2bl, with Points distributor TH-350 Automatic 3spd Transmission Headers and welded dual exhaust, nice mellow sound. Heat and defrost work Power steering Manual Disc/Drum Brakes Looks nice and runs/drives great. I have been driving it for the past few days and the more I drive it the better it gets. Send me a message or email and I will send you a link to all the photos I have. Ebay won't let me post the link here. Check my feedback, NO BS from me. I give you the straight story. Truck has Clean PA Title.
