Vehicle Detail
Hello Chevy Truck enthusiasts . Up for auction is a fairly tough to find truck , and with this mileage its almost impossible. What you are looking at is one of the stoutest , toughest trucks to ever roll off Chevrolets assembly line . The truck is a 1984 Chevrolet 1 ton Crew Cab 4wd Dually with only 17,810 Miles " May go up slightly as i drive it back and fourth on the farm " . The truck has two previous owners , Both fire departments . It was purchased new by the Hazen Rural Fire department of Hazen North Dakota from the Hazen Motor Co. , It was then purchased by the Nokomis Fire Department of Nokomis IL in 2005 . I will include pictures of it in " Service Uniform " for both Departments . The drivetrain in the truck Consists of the 6.2 Diesel that runs like a sewing machine , or as a 17,000 mile engine should . The transmission is a th400 / 205 combo which sends power to the Dana 70 rear and Dana 60 front which are stuffed with 4:56 gears . the front does have lock out hubs but they are hidden behind the hubcaps . Tires are new Hankook Dynamic Mt's , size 235-85-16 . Brakes are like a brand new truck . Runs and drives down the road like a brand new truck , No wobbles , shakes are bangs , Remember , this truck only has 17,810 miles on it so nothing is wore out or even remotely close to being wore out . The front springs still have the paper part number lables on them as well as the front axle and rear shafts still have the paper part number tags . may be more i just have not found them. Now the truck was repainted the bright red you see after it was sold to Nokomis . The inside is still the factory Chevy Red/Orange , there is some overspray on the front core support from under the hood " See pics " . There are a few small dings and some scratches " It was a fire truck" but nothing severe . The worst part on the body is the mounting holes in the roof from the previous light bars . Underside is rust free . Seriously , its rock solid all over . The truck was ordered as what i call a " Stripper truck" which means it was ordered as a no frills work horse. This is badged as the " Bonus Cab " instead of a 3+3 cab . The reason is Bonus Cab trucks were ordered with no rear seat for various reasons . This truck has had another rear seat added at some point , It does not match the original front but could be recovered to match . The truck was ordered with vinyl floors , Manual windows , Radio Delete , Cigarette lighter Delete. But it does have a heater that will run you out . The dash has two screw holes where the light switch panel was mounted and a hole in the speaker grill where the wires were ran to said switch panel . The oil pressure sender is finicky , sometimes it works just fine and other times it pegs over past 60 , ill try to get it replaced but i cant garuntee ill get to it . The driver side aluminum trim sill plate is only half there due to the other half being removed for auxillary wiring . Another thing that needs fixed is the driver spotlight needs a new bulb and the pass side spotlight needs a new handle If you have any questions , feel free to ask . I could go on and on about this truck but if your viewing this auction , 9 chances out of 10 you know exactly what you are looking at and just how tough it is to find in this condition . I originally bought the truck in hopes of turning it into our new family truck , however the wife wants heated seats and power windows so im going to put this one up for auction and let someone else do with what they want . Truck is located in Shelbyville IL and must be picked up here . I can load on a shippers truck if need be . I ould tell you you can drive it home , just depends how bad you want to run 4:56's down the interstate , i will say when Nokomis FD purchased it from North Dakota , it was driven home . I will not be accepting paypal on this truck , Payment must be made in the form of Cash at pickup , Certified Bank Check or direct wire transfer to my account . Must be paid for within 7 days of auction end . If you plan on sending a bank check you must allow 5 working days for check to clear my bank before the truck is picked up . It will not leave my property until payment is cleared . I have a clean illinois title ready for your signature.
