THIS IS A 1986 DEFENDEN 90 "NOT A 1980 BUT EBAY HAD A PROBLEM TO LIST IT Here whe have my a early defender 90 , if you now defender's you now that the early defender had removable door frames (really nice during the summer) and has the fuel tank on the side instead of the back . its a 7 seater so 3 seats in front 4 in the back a Couple of years ago I did take the body of the chassis cleaned everything and painted the chassis and the body , and put about 90% new bushes on it . the chassis and bulkhead are rust free and clean , as you can see the wagon body has the side clips for the pick up cover , so this defender you can convert to a pick up takes 30 min. and it dose come with the pick up cab!!!!! so your choice wagon or pick up. have also side covers to remove the windows on the side and replace it with rollup plastic ones. I did trow out the Non turbo engine and fitted a 200 TDI from a 1989 defender , drives great with this engine and gives a great mile to the Gallon , fitted a kenlow fan and radiator with intercooler. So what we have here is a good driving early defender thats rust free , stil has his genuine factory chassis and cab , and not the usual rusty rotten piece of crap thats imported from the UK , this car was used by a diplomat and spend his time all over the world . the Land rover needs some small things to fix as mentioned above, would be a good start to make a concours 90 out of it . good things: Early car , Very very good rust free bulkhead , rust free straight chassis, 7 seater , both tops wagon and pick up ,No bondo , straight body , good upgrade engine 200 TDI , good gearboxs , with difflock work. A real legal import (not a new one converted to look like a old one !!!) in to the US , Japan and many othe country's , Genuine factory stamped chassis number. have a new door trim kit what is not fitted (exmoor so expensive kit ) , Defender pedal lock , plastic roll up side windows (not fitted) ,new powersteeringboxs fitted , 5 speed boxs works good. clutch is also good . Bad things , speedo cabel broken , heater fan switch dose not work , tires are good but old (spare is crap) , rear door hinges need new pins (did order them and do come with the truck.
